My 2 year old German shepherd has been scooting, not frequently but sometimes she licks her bum which then results in the foul odor. I’ve tried to express her glands but find it hard to do, and also nothing comes out. She eats normal and is very playful. Her stool used to be soft but not anymore since I changed her food. Now I feed her Kirkland signature dog food healthy weight dog formula. Also, I have been giving her for two months Zesty paws probiotic bites. Are these symp due to impaction
Product recommendation pls: naturvet Omega gold plus salmon oil chews vs VetriScience derma strength every day health chews; pls see attached pics. Looking for Omega 3 supplement (chews). Nikki eats core wellness grain free ocean flavor. Being using VetriScience, her itchiness from unknown allergy hasn't improved. On the other hand, I would like to know where/how I can get cytopoint, asked my vet but they don't have it. Thanks !
i cant get my mini teddy bear to stop dragging his butt therefore really bad breath, ive tried cleaning the anal glands and ive tried four containers of No Scoot but to no avail, any advice would be appreciated
Hello, I was wandering how to stop my dog from eating his own poop. I saw that the internet said to get a "No Stool Eating" chewable.
Good morning, My Chihuahua/Min-pin mix (Schlitzy) has been dragging his rear frequently for about 2-3 weeks. A week ago we had his anal glands expressed and the scooting cont'd. I bought an OTC fenbendazole dewormer, a 3 day course, last dose yesterday, yet the scooting is the same! He eats regularly, behaves regularly (other than scooting) and has stools that are solid. They are more more tan/orange-ish than brown and have had noticeable mucous strands. No vomit or diahrea. What else can I do?
My dog is licking and scooting his but over the floor and looks really uncomfortable. He has had his anal glands emptied by the vet and we do it ourselves every so often and they are now clear. What should I do, what should I give him? Is there a specific kind of food he needs? If so what food? I was looking at silica 6 c for dogs and wanted to know if his is ok and another one called stool firm and wanted to know if this helps anal glands stay empty
What can i give for my dog to naturally express his anal glands? Hes been leaking for about 2 months now and his stool is firm. Ive tried psyllium husks, silica and pumpkin.
I have a 6lb chihuahua (7yrs) and 10lb chi-cross (5). They're both in good health, but over the past year they've been scooting more. Last time they saw the vet, they had their glands expressed, but now it seems to have caused a recurring problem (scooting, fishy smell). I've done them twice at home since February. They free-feed on Acana lamb, and I'm trying to figure out: A) Would more fibre help them B) The best type of fibre to add for their feeding habits, and C) How much fibre they need.
My dog ate over 30 NaturVet cranberry Relief plus Echinacea. She is 50 pounds. What do I need to do?
Hi there, what would be good for me to give my dog if he has a little softness in his stool?
My Shih Tzu takes Lactulose as needed per his vet for occasional consipation. I’ve been giving him that along with only wet food. Today his stool is kinda soft. He has been taking NaturVet Quiet Moments Plus Melatonin but only half a chew at dinner. Vet did tell me to stop the Lactulose but should I stop the NaturVet Quiet Moments Plus Melatonin? I don’t see much far as side effects with that. Also should I start dry food back since his stool is softer? Thank you
Scoots butt on ground - not often. Deworming again with Pancur. Vet took care of anal gland. Should I change diet or consult local Vet again? Stools are normal.
