I have a poodle with floppy, hairy ears. I have tried this wash a couple of times as a daily treatment for one of his ears and even tried Burts Bees' ear cleaner to see the difference. I've gone back to NaturVet as not only does it seem to work best in getting rid of wax, when wiped with a tissue, but the applicator tip is safe and does not propel (like Burt's) into his ears when you squeeze. I'm now loyal to NaturVet!

Best and safest pet ear cleaner (dogs/cats) I have ever used. I use it on my dogs and cats before and after they shower. Before-protects from water, shampoo, etc from going deep into the ear. After-to flush out debris, clean, protect, and dry. Better than alcohol based cleaners which irritate the ears and cause infection. Alcohol based is not good for their ears, it will cause an imbalance and an infection/inflammation. Used this product after trying many others, this one is the freaking best!

I have tried several ear cleaners, this is by far the best and safest. It smells great and I use it before and after showering to keep my dogs' ears clean and healthy. I used to buy at my local stores but they disappeared off the shelves. So glad I found it here! Highly recommend this product!

Tea tree oil is toxic to cats.  It’s well known.  What makes this product ok to market for use on cats or is it not ok?  Most essential oils are harmful or deadly to a cat’s liver and some for dogs but they are able to handle more of them than cats.

Can you use this product past the expiration date? If so, for how long?

    1. I used it past the expiration date with no problem. It had not changed color or smell.

    (1) What is the source of the BABY POWDER fragrance? *Is it from TALC?* (2) In the INGREDIENTS section on this page, why has any mention of parabens been omitted? In the photo of the ingredient list on the bottle, parabens are listed.

    1. Hello. Thank you for your product question. When I checked the C of A for the baby powder fragrance, the origin as not stated. If you are referring to "parabens" being omitted on the Petco page, it is created and monitored by Petco. NaturVet lists the parabens on the label because we want to make them known in case the pet has an sensitivity to them or pet owners are looking for a paraben free product.

Is it recommended to use this regularly on cats?

Yeast in dogs ear causes squishy sound

      1. Hello. Thank you for inquiring about NaturVet's Ear Wash. It is not formulated to take the place of medications prescribed by your Veterinarian. Once the ear condition is cleared up, NaturVet's Ear Wash is an excellent maintenance product to keep the ears healthy.

why would they put glycerin that clogs pores and boric acid (burns) in sensitive ear area.?

      1. First off, Glycerin is non-comedogenic (which means it will NOT clog pores). Secondly, I'm not sure where the notion that the boric acid solution "burns" is coming from? Boric acid is typically a buffered application used for it's antiseptic and acidic properties. It helps to dry excess moisture in the ear associated with yeast infections without causing discomfort.

Which canine ear cleaning products are safe for puppies around 5 months old?

      1. NaturVet Ear Wash with Tea Tree Oil is perfectly safe for dogs or cats over 6 weeks of age.
