(1) One SKB unit is defined as the amount of enzyme needed to form 10 mg of reducing sugars from 1% soluble starch solution at pH 5.0 and 40 degreeC in 30 minutes. (2) One FCC Lipase Unit (LU) is defined as that quantity of enzyme that will liberate the equivalent of one umol of acid (H+) per minute from the substrate, under the conditions of the assay. The assay is based on a five-minute hydrolysis of an olive oil substrate at pH 6.5 and 30 degreeC. The fatty acids released on hydrolysis of the glycerol esters are determined by titration with sodium hydroxide. (3) One carboxymethyl cellulose unit (CMCU) is that amount of enzyme which liberates one micromole of reducing sugar (expressed as glucose equivalents) in one minute under the conditions of the assay. (4) The activity of bromelain is measured in the FCC PU; the assay of which is based on the hydrolysis of casein. This assay is based on a 60-minute proteolytic hydrolysis of a casein substrate at pH 6.0 and 40 degreeC. One PU (Papain Unit) is defined as that quantity of enzyme that liberates the equivalent of 1ug of tyrosine per hour under the conditions of the assay.

Nature Gnaws Dental Dog Chews
I recently adopted a dog from the shelter a couple days ago, his stool is not as formed as it should be and he has the worst smelling gas throughout the whole day. I began to read about NaturVet Advanced Probiotics & Enzymes chewables, would that be a good thing to give him or should i try something else? He’s a 50lb lab/chow mix somewhere between 1-2 years old and the shelter said they’ve been feeding him pedigree or whatever they had available so that’s what I’ve been giving him. Thank you.
How can I prevent digestive problems in dogs?
Dental oral care...which products to use? Was suggested OralVet, as its the one which digests in the dogs stomach is swallowed in big chunks. but not readily available in most stores. Is there a comparable product readily available, safe and easily digested?
Our vet prescribed composure pro for our puppy to help with some nervousness. We have been giving it once a day for the past days or so. Can this cause soft/mushy stools? She's not going frequently and she is fine in every other way. Just seems to have soft poops
How long can Chloe be on a probiotic, fortiflora
What food is good to give an acid pron dog? Is there a probiotic i could give her?
I have a 3 year old black lab, she is 80lbs and in great health. But she is having a hard time with her GI track she has been seen by 3 different vets all put her on a antibiotic and 2 put her on a probiotic packet all seamed to help but once she is not taking them she has runny stools yet again. Her food is Costco hard food organic with probiotic in it

Hi, can I give Protexin probiotics for a dog that was diagnosed with pancreatitis?
My flat-coat has had liquid B.M.'s for the last 7-10 days. My vet has prescribed Proviable-Forte, a digestive health supplement. He is showing no improvement after 2 days. He still has a good appetite but throws up any little bit of chicken meat that I give him to help him eat the paste. He seems to keep his kibble down but drinks lots of water. I am thinking he may have an obstruction but not sure how to proceed.
My gsd twisted its stomach and had an operation and survived. However despite feeding veterinary diet of hills digestive care I.d she belches and passes wind frequently and has a nasty taste in her mouth. Fed five times daily. Taking Omeprazol taken daily and mucogel fluid three times daily . what else can I give or do for my dog to eleviate the reflux and belching ? As she spins in her cage in the car due to excitement I am afraid to take her in the car due to risk ! Any suggestions ?
My dog has an upset stomach - is vomiting, but acting normal with normal bowel movement - would a probiotic help his sour stomach
