Recipe Change??

Poppington

I've been buying this food for several years now. My dog loves it and doesn't have any issues eating it. I would've rated it 4 or 5 stars until the last couple bags. However, the last 2 bags I've bought smelled HORRIFIC. Like so gross. My dog still eats it no problem, but it grosses me out enough that I'm looking at changing her food. It used to not smell too bad but that's definitely changed. The first bag this happened with I thought maybe it was a fluke. But then the next bag came and it's the same issue.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I've been feeding my 2 small dogs this food for 4 years. All of a sudden the kibble not only LOOKS different but smells horrendous. It makes my whole family grossed out & not able to be in same room with the food. My dogs DEFINITELY don't like this food anymore, pick out the pieces of raw & I have to then mix something like meat into the kibble to get them to eat. Such a shame because they used to love it.

I have yet to find a freeze-dried raw piece. Very upsetting since this was the main reason I decided to buy this $90 bag.

No, I do not recommend this product.

LIVE BUGS FOUND IN DOG FOOD

Elzey

Purchased both my puppy and dog the instinct raw boost dog food only to find that the food was contaminated with worms and weevils! If you take a look at the sample photo I’ve attached, you’ll see that not only is there a moving weevil in the ziplock, there is also one embedded in the dog food! There are many of these and small worms inside of their dog food bags! The sample was taken for the purpose of showing Petco to get my money back! Leaving one star because there is not an option to leave zero stars! My dogs have been eating this food for at least one week before we noticed the pests so I hope they are ok!

Very Little freeze dried raw

Hazle

I started my puppy on a freeze dried raw diet when I got her but decided to switch to a dry food so i started buying this product a few months ago and my fur baby seemed to like it. The only thing I see wrong is that the freeze dried raw bits are declining. I might only see 3-5 little pieces in her bowl when I feed her. The only reason why I got this brand is for that. I had started her out on a freeze dried raw patty diet but was looking for something more affordable. I'm really on the fence if I am going to be buying this product/brand again.

Hi there- We are sorry to hear that this recipe no longer works for your dog. We do have some other recipes that are free from any chicken; perhaps something from our Limited Ingredient line or the Original Rabbit kibble may be worth a try for your pup!

It is unfortunate that chicken replaced the turkey ingredient. I can no longer purchase this product as my dog is allergic to CHICKEN. I am now stuck with a 20 lb bag that I cannot use or return.

Hi there- We are so sorry to hear that the Raw Boost Beef is no longer a good fit for your pup. We did make some minor changes to our recipe recently due to a change in our turkey meal supply and adding chicken to our Raw Boost Beef was one of them. However, we do have some other chicken-free options that may work well with your pups allergies. We also have a 100% guarantee on all of our products so feel free to take that bag back for a full refund or exchange!

when I first started buying the instinct dog food, I did a test with my dog. I put down 3 different brands of dog food, and my dog chose instinct. Shes been on it ever since and she loves all the flavors of the instinct dog food. I definitely recommend this brand to all my friends and their pets.
