Get Rid of the Canola Oil!

ChacoAbq

This would be an excellent choice if it didn't have CANOLA OIL!!! It's a SEAFOOD formula, use salmon oil! Canola is cheap, does not add any nutritional benefit, and is usually genetically modified! This product is sold for a premium price, does NOT have premium ingredients, largely because of the canola oil.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I'm so thankful for this food for my dog with multiple allergies. This has been the only did that will work for her. Currently, many stores have sold out, and I'm concerned it is either recalled or being eliminated. Is everything okay? I'm scared, because it's been the only did we can find that works for our whole family. We don't want to lose it!

Hello There, While this recipe has not been discontinued or recalled, unfortunately, like many companies, we are experiencing supply challenges that have impacted our kitchens’ ability to make enough of our recipes. We know how important it is to find the right food for your pet and how frustrating it is to not be able to find it. We’re doing all we can to get our supply levels back to normal, but we do not have a specific date as to when it’ll be available.

We have been purchasing Instinct products for years. Unfortunately, they keep lowering the protein. It was the high protein that attracted us to this product to begin with. We much prefer the food the way it used to be with the higher protein.

Thank you for leaving us a review! Our Original Salmon recipe hasn't had any changes to lower the protein. But if you are looking for higher protein options, please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to discuss the right fit for you and your dog. Our email is cservice@instinctpetfood.com.

My GSD Doesn't itch!

Naomi

We have tried all the veterinary diets, and 4 other food brands over the last 2 years along with allergy pills, homemade food, and doggy derm testing. None of that worked. This is THE ONLY food that doesn't make my pup itch. It smells a little fishy, but the pup loves it and it makes his coat look amazing. He looks great and is finally living a normal life without itching all the time.

works for my dog

My 3 year old German Shepherd mix was previously on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown Rice (before I adopted her), then on TOTW Pine Forest (venison) until last month. After realizing that her stools were consistently soft for 5+ months and seeing her lick her bum excessively, I decided to switch to Instinct grain-free salmon dry dog food. Knowing that finding the right food was going to include a bit of trial and error, I came up with a list of foods to try and Instinct happened to be the first on the list. My dog is still transitioning but we're in the 75% new food phase as of yesterday and I have to say, this food has already helped her so much! Her stools are completely normal and firm now, she's licking her butt way less, plus her fur has become ridiculously soft. Honestly a little afraid of how soft she'll be once we get her on this food 100% but I am so thrilled that this seems to be working well for her system. I know this brand and product are slightly more expensive than more common kibble for dogs but I figured that at 537 calories/cup, I was getting a pretty good deal since I would be able to feed my dog less to compensate for the high calorie count.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Healthy for dogs needing a limited ingredient diet

Great dog food for dogs with allergies. My poodle has chronic yeast ear infections. This food seems to tame the yeast overgrowth due to limited carbohydrates. Also my four poodles enjoy the flavor.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a Belgian Malinois who is extremely active and struggles to keep weight on but after switching to instinct with such high protein and fat she’s been able to really fill out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing product!

So I have been having issues with my rescue goldendoodle, and her weight. She is very skinny and we cant seem to find out why she never gains weight. She has had quite the appetite, but none of the foods were just quite doing the trick in helping her gain back weight and muscle volume. We had her up to 6 cups a day, and she is still around 40lbs. We purchased this food about a week ago, and she already has a great feel about her ribs and tummy tuck. Before there was absolutely nothing in between her ribs and spine. She was skin and bone. She now has filled in with not fat, but great muscle tone! May I add she is a VERY VERY active dog. She is a hunter and she goes to daycare every single day with me. All she does is run run run. I cannot recommend this food enough to those who need help in weight issues with dogs! She also has chronic ear infection, so I am hoping this will help with that also! Thank you Instinct!
