I would like to add this to my dogs kibble for a mix of hard and soft food. I will only need a small amt each day and wonder how long I can keep the unused portion in the fridge. I was hoping to stretch it over about 5 days.

will this sweater (XL) fit my Bassett Hound. Obviously a very challenging breed to fit.
- My dogs chest is 28, length 22. Lab and Australian Shepard. This fits just fine. I think your dogs chest is prob the same. I know northern Texas gets cold. This cable knit is not tight, nor a loose weave. I can not see your dog or any dog getting out of this, but if they do not like to wear sweaters, anything is possible as this knit does give as knits do. If your dog is intent to get out, put it on and give the dog a treat, positive reward. Do that a couple times and the dog might want to jump in the sweater after associating the sweater as something positive. If you find it a bit loose here or there, buy yarn and hand stitch it making your own darts or seams. That will be easy to do. Or sew on strips of fabric with velcro . For this price and quality it is worth it to do a bit of alteration if needed

Any color I click on - there's no option for large and X-large even though picture shows Large-Gray. I need for a great dane that's 170 pounds.

What size should I get my boxer?
- Probably would not work very well for her. My puppy is very flexible, but leg issues may make it hard to get on. The neck is nice and big, though.

My dog is an English Mastif and weighs about 170. Will the cable sweater fit him?
- I am not sure about this sweater for a Mastif - 170lbs. Dr. Foster and Smith have a large selection with good guidelines for measuring. Also, the phone service representatives, helpful and friendly, are available to answer your questions regarding purchases. My largest dog was a German Shepard - 85lbs.
