Amazing Dog Food

I’ve been buying this for my retriever/lab/gsd/boxer/chow mix and she absolutely loves it. She’s been on this brand for about 9 months now, and I would never consider going with another food. She has an intolerance to red meat, does ok with chicken, but to keep her coat, heart, and joints healthy we love this for her. So glad we’ve found this. She’s not super picky per se, but she will turn her nose up to anything she doesn’t love - not with this though. She loves this stuff! Her coat is so shiny and soft. We get compliments all the time about how beautiful she is! I attribute this to the Omega-3s and other well sourced nutrients. While it’s a bit pricey, I wouldn’t change anything.

Good healthy food for your dog

This is Good quality food. The healthier the food, the more your dog will use the nutrients in the food and the less waste he or she will eliminate. I can tell the difference when I pick up waste in my backyard.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Instinct Be Natural Salmon and Brown Rice

We have a 15 month old labrador who was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea. These dogs cannot tolerate chicken or chicken by products. He has been eating this since December, loves it and it’s great on his stomach!

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have what I call my "bankruptcy " dog. She has had medical and allergy issues from when she was a puppy until now, 2.5 yrs old. In and out of vet, different meds and foods, diets, meal plans, ect. I didn't want to keep changing her food or giving her pills so much so I did tons of research and came across this brand... Did my reading and listened to my own gut and purchased the salmon blend, just a small bag to start with, and recently bought the big bag. Gypsy absolutely LOVES this food! Her eyes are brighter, she's running around, waaaaay more playful, acting silly and doing her usual unusual vocal sounds haha I could not be a happier owner! Even her rashes on the belly, itching, licking have subsided. She's just my happy Pup and I can't get enough. Thank you Instinct for your food and having our furry friends well being in your hearts!!!

Calcium & phosphorus

I bought this before I realized calcium and phosphorus content isn't listed. While my dog seems to like it, I'm not sure we'll be purchasing it again. He's a Golden Retriever and too much calcium can be dangerous.

What is the percentage of phosphorus and calcium?

  1. Hello! The percentages on a Dry Matter Basis are as follows: phosphorus 1.1% calcium 1.33%

Is this a grain free dog food?

  1. Hello! Our Be Natural line includes whole grains. Thanks!

Is Instinct Be Natural Salmon & Brown Rice recipe good for a diabetic dog?

  1. Hello! Although our food is formulated to meet all AAFCO nutrient requirements to be complete and balanced for all life stages, it’s not formulated for special needs pets. For pets with special needs, we recommend consulting with your trusted veterinarian to choose the right food. If your vet has certain nutrient requirements, we will be happy to work with them to try to find a good diet for your pet. Thanks!

Is there taurine in this food?

  1. Salmon generally doesn't have a lot of taurine. I'd contact the manufacturer to ask if they add it as I don't see it on the ingredient list. I do feed this to my German Shepherds as part of a rotation. The lamb or chicken formulas likely have more taurine.

My dog is on open feed. Since this is raw, could I leave it out all day?

  1. Hi There, Thanks for your question! The Instinct Be Natural Kibble is shelf stable and can be left out, however, if it is left out too long it may go a bit stale from air exposure. Hope this helps!

Does this have probiotics or prebiotics in the ingredients?

  1. Hi there, thank you for your question! Yes, our Be Natural kibbles contain both prebiotics and probitiocs in their recipes!

Are the bites small enough for a 9 pound Shih Tzu ?  Or is this more for medium-larger dogs ? I realize they sell one for small dogs but prefer these ingredients.  Thank you.

  1. The bites in this product are about 1 centimeter in diameter, so they are still small enough for a 9 pound dog. The small breed recipes are about half the size.
