Instinct Be Natural is a wonderful product

Judie

My Coton has been on Instinct Be Natural for years. I change from Chicken, to Lamb, to Beef after each bag is finished. When I change dog foods he vomits, but he has never done this with Instinct and he really seems to enjoy the flavor. He is a Therapy Dog, Ruff Reader Dog and an emotional support dog for the court system here. It's important that he stays healthy and alert. With Instinct Be Natural I am confident that he will remain healthy and happy. I have found that the stores that I buy it from no longer carry the smaller bags.

Canola Oil

We are in the process of switching our dog from the puppy food to adult dog food and was disappointed to see that canola oil is used in place of chicken fat in both the lamb and salmon recipe. We wonโ€™t be using either of those recipes now.

Thank you for leaving a review! Our canola oil is sourced from the United States and is obtained from hybridized rapeseed. These special rapeseed plants have been bred to be free of toxic gossypol. The end result was the canola plant, a version of the rapeseed plant but very low in erucic acid. So, through traditional breeding techniques, it has been modified from its original form. Canola Oil is low-allergen oil, also considered to be beneficial due to its low saturated fat and high monounsaturated oil content โ€“ the latter almost 60%. It also has a favorable omega-3 fatty acid profile. Canola oil is safe for animals and was required to go through stringent animal feeding trials to ensure it was a safe, edible oil. In the meantime, we will certainly pass your concerns along to our Research & Development and Quality Assurance Teams. At Instinct, weโ€™re constantly evaluating our products and striving to make improvements. We appreciate the time you took to provide your feedback.

We were so excited we found a food our dogs liked and then they all got sick. One throws it up immediately. We switched her food. Our other 2 seemed to like it and had no immediate issues, however 6 months in they are both have a lot of gas and diarrhea frequently. Vet could not find any issues and recommended switching food immediately!

Re-weight management- I have a 10 year old mini- doodle that is on the fluffy side in weight. I mix a bit of this in with Authority Weight mgt, (yum) although he's not loosing weight with the mixing,.... Would just Instinct be too calorie high for him?

  1. My dog eats only Instinct and has not lost weight

The ingredient section says this does not contain pea, while the third picture shows the fifth ingredient is pea. Why is the discrepancy? Which one should I believe?

  1. Hi There, we enhanced our Be Naturalยฎ recipes by increasing the amount of protein from animal sources to 70% or more. This update also reduced the amount of vegetable protein and removed peas and sweet potatoes. As a result of these changes, we improved palatability and maintained our high levels of digestibility. Thanks!

Does this food contain any peas, lentils or potatoes?

  1. You must read the label for EACH recipe - some DO contain pea (pea products) and some DO NOT.

Do this food contain pre & probiotics?

  1. This recipe includes added probiotics. Thanks!
