Contains chicken as second ingredient

MunkyPuppydog

we bought this product because my dog is allergic to poultry. Chicken is the second ingredient in the salmon and sweet potato recipe. We have been using this product for about 2 years with no problem and then in November my dog skin started flaking. He also threw up a few times but we did not think it was the food. He has developed hot spots one of them is 4 in in diameter. The other two are two inches in diameter. He has a vet appointment today but this morning we discovered that this food is the reason why he is sick.. They have totally lost our trust and our business. The only reason they would do this is to save on manufacturing costs. It also makes us wonder where they're getting their ingredients?

No, I do not recommend this product.

Sick dog because of Change in Dog food

Sick dog

My dog all the sudden became sick and was having mucus coated diarrhea and we couldn’t figure out why. His food is different now. It has dark and light brown pebbles in it so it made me start researching. Which I then found many other dogs having issues because of this change in the dog food. Shame on you Natures Recipe!! We will be changing our food today!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Possible plastic in kibble

I bought this food on and off for a while. My dog totally agreed with it but the problem I was having is in the last bag had what I think is bits of plastic in the kibble, throughout the whole bag and I bought a 24 lb bag. I also was doing some research when I found these plastic bits inside the kibble and found someone else reviewed this dog food on Chewy and had the same problem so please be careful comes to giving your dog this food since we don't know what it is. I'll be returning it and purchasing a totally different brand

No, I do not recommend this product.

No longer good for allergies

This used to be my go to brand but it appears that my dogs recent suffering from skin allergies may be related to the recent unannounced formula change for this dog food. This food may be risky for pets with food sensitivities.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hidden chicken ingredients. Dog doesn’t love it.

I like that it is salmon, sweet potato, and pumpkin but I don’t like that chicken is one of the hidden ingredients. My dog is allergic to something and I’m trying to limit frequently known dog allergies and chicken is one of them. My dog also doesn’t love this food. He will only eat it when he is really hungry or if I put a topper in it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Whats wrong with the food? I been giving this to my American bylly for years. I do notice that his allergies was not getting any better even with the Steroid & allergy medicine. Vet ask me what am I feeding different. I said no. Now I know it has chicken.

How long will an UNOPENED bag stay good? i.e., is there an expiration date on the bags? If so, not shown in the pix. I have a small dog and figure to buy a few smaller bags rather than a big bag (saves shipping costs). Thanks!

    1. Thank you for your question. The shelf life of our unopened Grain Free Salmon Sweet Potato Pumpkin bags is 18 months. The Best If Used By date is usually on the back side near our brand's logo. We don’t recommend consuming it if the Best If Used By date has passed.
