My dog HATED it!

I bought this with high hopes because my dog has allergies to almost everything, but not lamb. It's also supposed to be good for sensitive tummies. Well, my dog ate a tiny bit of it at first and then I had to try to cover it up with other foods to get him to eat. He'd pick off the other foods and try to leave this food behind. He was literally starving himself to not eat it. I got worried thinking he was sick or something. After 3 days of barely eating and then throwing up bile, I gave up and bought a different food. He gobbled that food down without a problem, so not sick, just hated this food that much. Oh well, just not for him. Also, as others have said, it's a very, very dry food and sort of sticky. When he did actually eat some, he drank a lot of water between bites.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent Wet Dog Food

My two Boston Terriers love this dog food more than the significantly more expensive brands that include lamb. This brand keeps their bathroom habits and flatulence to a minimum. One dog is 10 and the other one five years old. They continue to run and play like pups. My only concern is that 100% of ingredients are not from USA but my research has revealed that most highly priced wet dog foods have ingredients from foreign countries.

Yes, I recommend this product.

my dog loves this food. He has a hard time eating the dry food now so the canned food is perfect for him. When I have repeat delivery it is so much cheaper.

It's pretty good but It is so dry I can hardly get it out of the can. I appreciate it not filled with oils, but wish there was another Lamb mix without barley. My dog's liked it so so....

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

Sort by: Newest Answers

Is this food made in the USA?

  1. Made in USA except grain free wet food. That is made in Thailand.  I’ve fed this food to my three Jack Russells over 20 years with no problems.

I read that the grain free dog food is linked to heart disease in dogs is this true? And if it is true why are you still selling it?

  1. Yes--studies found heart failure has developed in dogs on grain-free foods. My vet says no to any grain-free foods now. There are lots of articles on line about it.

Whereis this made?

  1. Thank you for your question, our Nature's Recipe Can Original Ground Lamb Rice Barley (13.2 oz) is made in Bloomsburg, PA.
