I have a 15 year old toroise turtle. Her she'll looks dried out. Can I put some avacado or Olive oil on her?
My african sideneck turtle shell has a green spot inside the shell, do you have any advise on how to treat or what the green may be.? In a article I read of putting the turtle in a dry area and letting them have a 1hr of water/feed time and use mild soap to wash shell (diluted?), povidone iodine (diluted?), and either rub it on shell or let sit with gauze on shell for 10 mins? Also dust their food with calcium..? Abagail (Abby, from Blade), she refuses to bask bt she does eat/have fun swimming
My turtle is losing her skin
My turtle back in India has a deformed shell, it looks bad and rotten. I have tried lots of different medicine and care routine suggested by local vets. But nothing has worked.the turtle otherwise is healthy, eats properly, is very active gets enough sunlight for basking as well. Can you please suggest what can i do to improve its shell? I live in US but my mom takes care of my turtle back in india. If needed i can take medicines from US to India. The turtle is with us for more than 7 years.

Hey, I have a baby Sri Lanka Black Turtle (Melanochelys trijuga thermalis). I rescued the little guy from a pond that was in really bad condition, it had a lot of algae growing on it's shell. I noticed that it has some white spots on it's shell so I brush the shell with a soft toothbrush and apply betadine solution with a Q tip for the past 2 days and let it dry overnight. So I just wanted to know if this is shell rot and if I'm treating it correctly since there are no vets that know how to.
I have a one year old Mississippi map turtle and I have been keeping watch on him. I have noticed his shell is creating sores that have now become wounds. I have been using a diluted iodine to help however it doesn't seem very affective. What other things can I do to help stop this from occurring? It's very concerning for me and I wish the best treatment for him. Thank you for your help.
