My breeder recommended using Pumpkin in my puppies food when his stomachs is upset. Is that OK, and how much/how often should I be using it?
Good afternoon, how long does it usually take for pumpkin to work for a constapated dog?
My GS mix 2+yrs old has issues expressing her glands. We feed Taste of the Wild. Fed twice/day. When she was a puppy we added pumpkin to firm up her poo and it helped, about a Tbsp give or take. In last 6 months she has been having issues w/anal glands & we have taken her twice for expression at vet & I think she is needing it again. We give baby carrots, 2-3 daily as treats. I want to resolve this vs buying something to add to her food, any suggestions? Is she getting too much fiber?
Hello, My dog has been having diarrhea after a round of antibiotics from a dental extraction and ear surgery. Our pet store recommended canned pumpkin so we decdided to give it a try. We calculated our dogs weight wrong and have given her more than the recommended feeding amount. Would this be harmful for her? She's a miniature schnauzer and we possibly fed her a couple tablespoons over...
I have a 3 year old male Yorkipoo and a 3 year old female mini aussie. They had loose stool so I started feeding them pumpkin chicken and rice and it really helped. i noticed that their fur stated looking better and their breath smells better and they no longer have a bad body order. I have decided to start feeding them home cooked meals of chicken rice vegetables and beans. is this safe? What else should I put in the food to ensure that they are getting all their nutritional needs
How can I prevent digestive problems in dogs?
My dog seems to have constipation but when she tries to poop, a little bit of liquidy poop comes out and that’s it. I was told to try pumpkin. Does this usually work and if so should she fast for 12 hours? Is it ok if she only eats a couple tablespoons of pumpkin in a day?
I think I gave my 98lb great Dane/lab mix dog too much pumpkin. She had been having diarrhea for a day with her normal kibble so I switched to canned raw pumpkin and super lean ground turkey for a bland diet. I mixed them about 50/50...I started yesterday and she's had 3 servings, equalling about 1.5 cans of canned pumpkin and 1.5lbs of turkey. DID I GIVE HER TOO MUCH PUMPKIN???? IS SHE GOING TO BE OK??? She seems fine, lively, normal, but now I'm freaking out that I gave her too much??

Gave our puppy about 1.5-2 tablespoons of pumpkin with her dinner about 2 days ago. She’s had diarrhea ever since. Semi-formed stool this AM, so it appears to be getting better. Did the pumpkin cause this? Should I do anything besides let it run its course?
Our 3-year old basset/lab/terrier mix has been struggling with loose stools - not diarrhea but loose. We were giving him Wellness brand complete health chicken, but since the issues started we've been doing cooked chicken, rice, and pumpkin. We'd like to get him back on kibble but I have no idea what direction we should go i.e. ingredients to look for/avoid. Any advice? All my googling indicates it's very idiosyncratic and trial-and-error, but this seems so inefficient and not good for our pup.
What is the best food for a 7 to 8 year old pitbull mix who has trouble keeping weight on when price is also an issue?
