Hi, I have a F1 Miniature Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog Mix that I am picking up on Wednesday. The mother (Bernese) is 60 pounds and the father (mini poodle) is 15 pounds. I am currently in Korea (visiting) when I found a dog I adopted (my intention was to adopt a small dog). I am returning to America next week. Shami will have to be in cargo for about 15 hours. I am so worried. We went to the vet and got an all clear and got her a cage (big enough for her). What can I do to make her flight comfortable? I already know to add food, water, pee pads. What else? A cooling mat? Toys? What can I do to put her at ease? I am really worried she won't make it.
In about the week I am going on a road trip with Sarah and my dad's to Border Collie mixes one of them is a senior the other is borderline obese. The only one that's made this road trip before is the senior but she has developed anxiety involving train tracks cattle guards and road trips in general since the last time she went. I'm planning to travel with both dogs. Sharpei is registered as ESA. I have a small crate for my maltipoo. Anything I can do to ease their flight experience and get them ready besides calming supplements? Boo has a habit of drooling and his gums turning pale when he's in a crate. How can I prevent that? This is their first time flying . (I already have calming supplements) also, how many hours before the flight should I give the water and food? It should I wait afterwards.
