It was exactly what I was looking for. Was hard to locate a gate that did not have wood extending to the sides. The upright ends of this are perfect because they don't interfere with the "bumpers" that hold it in place. Some reviews mentioned problems with the catch on the locking bar. I did NOT have any problem. It works perfectly. I use it to keep an older cat in "his" room.

This gate is the best I've ever seen/used. It allows for higher tension, depending on the strength of the dog. I'm very happy with it.

I bought this for my cats and it’s great! They are decent jumpers but haven’t tried to jump this. I also just learned that if I raise it off the ground a few inches it allows my smaller cats through while excluding our big cat which is great because he’s the main reason we needed the gate. 4 stars because if I’m not careful I have to reset the width setting with each use. It would be nice if the little latch stayed in place a little better. But I marked it so at least I can reset it quickly.

Like the height, I had an older one I needed to replace. But, the new one does not work as smoothly. the lift arm to unlock it keeps catching on the wire mesh and is very frustrating.
