Metacam is an oral product to be given by mouth. Shake the oral suspension well before use and measure the dose using the syringe provided by the manufacturer. To prevent accidental overdosing of small dogs, administer drops on food only, never directly into the mouth. For long-term treatment, use the lowest dose needed to provide relief. For arthritic conditions, it may need to be given periodically for the animal's lifetime.

What's the shelf life of Metacam after opening? Thanks for any help.
I used to purchase the 180ml 1.5mg/mL of Metacam for my 98lb. German Shepherd with hip dysplasia. It is much more economical for me. You seem to only sell the 10mL. Can I get the larger bottle?

Is Metacam Oral Suspension for dogs okay to give cats? I had a vet give me a bottle for dogs, for my cat - he said it was more concentrated? I’m just hesitant to give my cat anything for dogs. If it’s okay to give, should I adjust the dose lower as it’s more concentrated?
Hi my dog is 35lb. 3 days ago he got into his prescribed metacam (1.5mg/ml) which he has been off of for about 2 weeks. I didn’t realize right away and he has been totally fine until today. I do not know how much he took, maybe 3-4 ml. He is now vomiting and very lethargic. Is it normal for this delayed reaction or could it be something else? He also has pale pink gums.
Hi there. My dachshund had to go to the vet this past Saturday because of an eye injury sustained at the groomer. The vet prescribed her metacam gir inflammation I'm guessing as well as eye drops. Metacam treatment was once a day with food 7kg dose. After Tuesdays dose my dog started to have some diarrhea. The diarrhea has now been going for 24 hours. She also just vomited the food she had approximately 15 hours ago or so. She seems in good spirits though and is not acting any differently.
My 120 pound dog was prescribed 15 mg Meloxicam for arthritis seems high please help!
Further to questions re: Tasha, my dog, with Osteo-arthritis in left rear Bone/hip, I read if you were to give too much of a Metacam pill, more than the prescribed dosage, it could cause a Seizure. If so, would the Seizure cause Death? She is presently on Tramadol - I am changing her to Metacam, very soon, as Tramadol doesn't help a bit!! She is still in a lot of pain! I read that Tramadol does not help for pain as previously stated, in the past.

Hi, My dog is 7 months old and is suffering from muscle soreness and stiffness. He has been like this for about 4 days now. On Monday the vet gave us Loxicom a 10 ml bottle for 5days and to give him one dose a day. But we really feel like the dose just isn’t enough. Could we possibly up the doseage? Many thanks, Nicola.
