My cat really enjoyed this scratcher bag and used it right away. It’s a fun design and great for the price. The only downside is durability — the paper bag ripped after about a week of use. Overall still a good product if you’re looking for a simple, affordable scratcher.

Adorable holiday spirit filled cat scratcher bag. If one were inclined to have cat furniture that was also decorative for the holidays, look no further. And the cat clearly was intrigued as well. I can't speak to how long this will last, perhaps only this season but two years would great, but it was easy to set up and seems as good as any other disposable scratcher I've ever had. No coal, only presents for this product.

From the moment I opened it, our cat was all over it. He went from not letting me put it together to exploring the stability (which isn’t much since it’s a paper bag!) and on to hiding inside. After playing hide and seek, this rough and tumble kitty proceeded to jump on top and rip the bag to shreds. It’s a super cute idea, but may not be suitable for super chewer cats.

My cats LOVE paper bags. I thought Merry Makings Fair Isle Paper Cat Scratcher Bag, would be the perfect match for my two cats, especially since both like to scratch on a cardboard scratcher, but both are not interested like I predicted they would be. I still give the scratcher bag 3 stars because it is quality heavyweight paper, a fun holiday wrapping paper design, a size similar to a grocery bag, and the scratcher fits in perfectly. The item also came with a small bag of catnip, but my cats were still not very interested until I removed the scratcher from the bag. Once the scratcher was removed, one cat began to use it.
