This food is a miracle for my dog who suffers allergies and digestive issues. This food is gentle on him and he loves it! I don’t know what I would do without this food for him - it’s a lifesaver for him, truly the only food out there he does not have allergic reaction to. He’s allergic to all poultry, fish, and beef, so my options are limited. I thank goodness for this food.

I bought this because my dog is allergic to almost everything but there's more water than meat in the can. Disappointed.

I’ve used this product for a year. Worked great for my dog with food allergies. I’ve noticed the past 3 months that the quality has changed. It used to be completely mixed in a solid form. Now the meat portion is completely separated from the juice or gravy. The food is so compacted and gravy very slimy and messy making it difficult to remove from the can without making a huge mess. The slimy portion tends to upset my dogs stomach so a portion of the food is unusable. I’m not sure what has changed but I’ve decided to switch to a different brand.

We have been buying Merrick’s canned food for my dog with a sensitive stomach and food allergies for a year now with great success. My dog is an extremely picky eater who does not usually eat much but the lamb flavor is his favorite and he is always looking for more. Last week I bought the lamb flavor at the pet store as usual. The labeling on the can was re-designed but there was no indication of altered ingredients on the face of this new can so I did not think anything of it. Upon opening the can, I noticed that this newly designed can had a different smell, only a small amount of solid meat and was filled with mostly liquid. I thought that maybe it was just a fluke can, but then I realized that the next can I opened was the same. The expiration dates were good so I proceeded to feed my dog with them as usual. My dog became ill almost immediately after eating one can of this new ingredient canned food. He was crying and having diarrhea every hour of the day and night for 2-3 days. After making this realization and stopping feeding him after only two cans, his diarrhea cleared. We are very disappointed in this change of ingredients and newly added ingredients. We need to search again for a truly limited ingredient canned food for our picky dog. After reading other recent reviews, others have also had similar stories and complaints. Hopefully, Merricks will act upon these reviews as I cannot continue to purchase their products with these new changes in quality.

I have a very picky 16 year old beagle that I was having a difficult time getting her to eat, the lamb seems to be hitting the spot for her! So glad that we tried it and she continues to like it.

High quality food. I’ve seem human food that is of lower quality (think SPAM)! This food is all meat with no added cheap fillers! My Shilohs love it! Worth the price!
