I am considering transitioning my puppy from hills science to merrick grain free dry dog food. Is merrick a good brand? What are the benefits of grain free dry dog food? What are the differences in feeding a dog salmon Vs chicken vs lamb vs duck?
I have recently adopted a dog. He is a mixed breed-shepard. At 6 months he weighed 50 pounds and he is currently going on 8 months old. I’ve been feeding him the Merrick grain free puppy beef and sweet potato all breed food. The kibble is small. He is getting 4 cups a day. He’s still skinny and eats it quickly. is there a more suited food for him? And when should I transition him to adult food?
The foods I'm considering for my dog are natural balance lid and Merrick lid. Natural balance is 20% protein and would provide between 11 and 13 grams of protein per day. The Merrick is 25% protein and would provide about 16 grams of protein per day. My dog is a cavalier King Charles spaniel, 5 years old and relatively inactive. What would be a better option for her. I will note the Merrick is slightly less calories than the natural balance. Natural balance is 350-375 and Merrick is 350 calories

I have a 5 year old, 75lb Catahoula leopard mix. He doesn't seem to like any dog food. Ever since he had a liver issue a year ago, he's been weird with eating. Before he would gulp his food down. He also seems to have a sensitive stomach now. I've tried merrick LI with goats milk and crumpled treats on top. It worked at first very well but now he doesn't want it. I have 2 overweight dogs, a 2yr old chihuahua(9lbs) and a 12yr old shih tzu(20lbs).
