What is the best food to feed a 55-pound highly active hound? I was told to switch to grain free, but her stool has been mucous like and runny. I've tried Redford Naturals Limited Ingredient (I've tried chicken, beef, sweet potato) and American Journey Limited ingredient (lamb). Just looking to find the best dog food for a very active hound that won't break the bank. Also, I'm concerned with all this news of heart problems linked with specific foods.
The foods I'm considering for my dog are natural balance lid and Merrick lid. Natural balance is 20% protein and would provide between 11 and 13 grams of protein per day. The Merrick is 25% protein and would provide about 16 grams of protein per day. My dog is a cavalier King Charles spaniel, 5 years old and relatively inactive. What would be a better option for her. I will note the Merrick is slightly less calories than the natural balance. Natural balance is 350-375 and Merrick is 350 calories
Hi, I need of advice for my 3 yr old dog. Before I moved she ate Purina Dog Chow Tender & Crunchy. When I moved across the country she stayed back home with my boss eating Natural Balance duck and potato. Now that I've moved her with me she hasn't been eating kibble. I changed the flavor to venison and chick peas. at first she was ok with not to crazy. My dog got sick with a ear infection and the only way she would eat it is with wet food mixed in thats because she was in paiun.iif i just put the dry kibble down she will not eat it. Its becoming expensive to keep buying wet. Should i changed brands?
