How many carbs are in this bag?
- The bag doesn't list the carbs.I bought the Grain Free Real Rabbit and Chickpeas. It states 70% protein-healthy fats and 30% produce, fiber, vitamins, minerals. There is a list of guaranteed analysis: Crude protein 36%;Crude fat 16%; Crude fiber 3.5%; Moisture 11%; Omega 6 fatty acids 3%; Omega 3 fatty acids 0.3%; Glucosamine 1200 mg/kg

How long will a 25lb bag last if I use 2 cups a day?
- This is a great question. When it comes to dog food you have about 4 cups to a pound. So, in a 25 pound bag you will get about 100 cups in that bag.

Is healthy weight a diet dog food, or is it used just to maintain a healthy weight?
- To feed this food for weight loss you'd need to feed to the weight level you want your dog to be. For example my beagle/basset is 57 lbs. We are going for somewhere in the 40-45 lb range so I'm feeding mine that amount that's listed on the packaging.

Can Merrick Healthy Weight dog food be on automatic delivery?
- I called the manufacturer before ordering this dog food. Calorie count is very important is weight loss. One cup has 360 calories. The kibble is round and would be fine for your dog. The kibbles are small. We have two dachshunds and they had been eating a larger size dog food kibble but they love this one just as well. I've read that the kibble size is usually not a big factor when deciding on a dog food. This food should help him but it also depends on what you've been feeding him. If you are giving him any kind of treats and//or bones that must stop. The best thing to add is string beans to his evening meal while cutting back on the dog food. Also, just throwing dog toys for him to fetch will help. We live in the South and it's so hot during the summer we throw a squeaky toy for our two dogs to run get and that helps a lot. Good luck!

BEST DOG FOOD FOR LOSEING WEIGHT
I have 2 overweight dogs, a 2yr old chihuahua(9lbs) and a 12yr old shih tzu(20lbs). We have always fed them kibbles and bits dry dog food with alpo wet dog food.Last week I went out and bought merrik healthy weight, only feeding them this dry food now. Normally at dinner time they eat all of their food in one sitting.With the new food they don’t eat it until later and do not eat the entire daily recommendation because they do not like the new food.Is this okay or do I need to find food they like

Dr. Hinson, since blue buffalo has a lot of calories and my male’s weight is steadily increasing (as expected because he is still growing) what food can I use to keep his weight under control because if I leave one cup of kibbles (each) out for them, I’m lucky if they finish it within three days so it’s not like I’m over feeding them plus they get daily exercise so I guess what I’m looking for is a kibble that’s grain free and can help feed my male enough but not get overweight.

My (very tall and muscular!!) Miniature Schnauzer needs to lose about 3 pounds. Prescription Royal Canin didn't carry enough sustanance for him, so he was constantly hungry. This is Kyro, my 1st dog I've had for 7 months. In 7 months he went from 75lbs to 85. Was feeding 2 cups twice daily of "Diamond All Natural Beef Meal & Rice" with piece of Roast Beef with a teaspoon of some kind of gravy & 1 Milkbone, 1 bully stick, 2 Grain fee treats daily. I cut back to 1 cup with Roast beef twice daily. I don't want to starve him but I want to keep his defined stomach. He won't eat unless the Roast beef & gravy is in his food. Bag of food says 4 cups daily. Any suggestions?
