Is this food heart healthy? I have a Cavalier and want to give him the best food available for his breeds heart problems.
- As far as I'm aware it's healthy as i feed it to my two Chinese Cresteds. As far as you're Cavalier having heart problems i would check with your veterinarian 1st. He may have to be on a special diet.

I have recently adopted a dog. He is a mixed breed-shepard. At 6 months he weighed 50 pounds and he is currently going on 8 months old. We currently feed Rex Merrick brand salmon and sweet potato dry and he has had no problems with it but had read something that Purina had bought Merrick and there is some question about the now quality of the food that they may have changed the ingredients. Do you have any information about the quality decreasing or a reason we should change foods? Or have a brand you recommend as a back up option?
