Feel free to mail your original purchase receipt with the price circled, a brief explanation of why you were dissatisfied with our products, the "Best If Used By" date box from the package, along with your name and street address (P.O. Box not accepted) to: Purina, Consumer Services, PO Box 340, Neenah WI 54957.

Using the chart on the back of the pack, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your puppy per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Every puppy is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as an initial recommendation only and adjust when needed. Dry and wet food in combination will help to increase the level of water in your dog's diet. If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/2 cup for every 6 oz. of wet food. Pregnant or nursing females may consume two or three times the recommended amount per day. For adult dogs, we recommend feeding 75 % of the recommended amount for puppies 16-52 weeks of age.

My puppy loves Merrick.

Memphis Grizz

I started my 4 month old rescue puppy, Memphis Grizz, on Merrick puppy food. His coat is shiny and skin is healthy. He is an Aussiedor, which has lots energy, so this food is packed with the high proteinthat he needs. He also loves eating it! I rotate his flavors often.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Shiny Coat

iCherelyn

Anything good that we put in our bodies is reflective on our skin and hair, and the same holds true for the results of my pup’s hair coat. It went from dull dry to shiny and vibrant. Although I can’t contribute it all to the dog food alone, because I did make some changes in his shampoo but this dog food play a integral role and I went with it based upon similar reviews in shiny coat of the pets of others. It the one thing I’m doing daily which I’m certain is plays a key role in my pup’s drastic change in the healthiness of his coat. I love even more so that it has far healthier ingredients than a lot of the other brands packed with fillers.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Another review from the sloppy poop team

Melissa and Willow

Sorry to say, my dog had way too soft of stools the entire time she was on this (as well as the junk she came on from the rescue). Switched her to something else and it’s been going as it should. Dog also did not want to eat it when switching from the rescue stuff. Immediately ate the new stuff we transitioned to. Personally, I’m not a fan of Merrick having been sold to Nestle years ago.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Food is good, quantity selection not so much

The largest bag for puppy is 12lbs. Not very large or economical. I have two 7 month old puppies and go through a bag in 3 weeks. Wish it was available in a 30 lb bag.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great food but needs better feeding chart

Puppy help

Why are you asking me a puppies goal weight to decide how much I should feed her? I would love to have a feeding chart that says month, weight and an estimated cup serving. She's a mutt. I have no idea what her goal weight is.

Quality food my puppy refused to eat

SJGZ

I give it three stars because it is a quality product. It is hard to find a premium puppy food WITH grains (which my veterinarian insisted upon.) However my dog hated it. I really couldn’t get her to eat it even though I added pumpkin, cottage cheese, or bone broth.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Says pea free, but in the pictures, the 6th ingredient clearly says, PEAS,?

  1. I would let Merrick know their mistake, plus, I found out this food contains the Synthetic K vitamin, which can be harmful to some pets over long term, I’ve since taken my dogs off this even though my puppy was on the puppy formula for a year, the adult food with grains also contains the same.

How much calcium is in this food?

  1. Thank you for reaching out. One of our pet parent specialist team members will be happy to provide you with this information. Please contact our pet parent specialist team at 1-800-664-7387 or customerservice@merrickpetcare.com. We are happy to help!

Has anyone experienced a situation where your pup was allergic to another brand food and was specifically scratching all day long? I just changed from Eukanuba and wondering if anyone had success in switching to this food?

  1. This is a year after your question so you may not need my input, but my young adult Lab can be itchy and also develops ear issues occasionally - he has allergies, which may include food allergies and he seems to get worse in the fall. My vet has told me to avoid poultry, read ingredients on everything, and feed a single protein food so he's on the Merrick Limited Ingredient Salmon formula (which is not grain free). She also told me not to give him Greenies (they have wheat) so he gets the Merrick Fresh Kisses (which don't). We also get a Cytopoint injection a few times a year, which works like an off switch for his scratching. Best!

Does this Puppy classic product contain grain free? My vet said to not feed puppies on grain free. My pup loves Merrick! Just hoping I don't have to switch because of the grain free issue!

  1. This particular product is not grain free.

What is the total calorie content (for the whole bag)?

  1. This is a great question. There is 391 kcals per cup. In a 4 pound bag there is about 16 cups. If you buy the 4 pound bag there would be roughly 6,256 kcals in the bag. If you have any other questions or concerns please reach out to our pet parent relations team 1-800-664-7387 or email customerservice@merrickpetcare.com

My puppies is just 1/5 and I got this food for him but I don’t know should I mix with water or milk . Because he still teething. And I don’t know what kind of milk should I give him.

  1. Hi Sedash, Puppies given regular cow's milk from the grocery's dairy section will sometimes develop sinus problems, diarrhea, or tummy aches. A safer alternative is full fat evaporated cows milk in a can. The OTHER Number 1 rule is to never, ever feed a puppy chilled Thanks,
