We currently feed Rex Merrick brand salmon and sweet potato dry and he has had no problems with it but had read something that Purina had bought Merrick and there is some question about the now quality of the food that they may have changed the ingredients. My Name Is Marc. I have a border Collie/Lab. And she is a very very picky eater. I gave her merrick chicken and sweet potato for awhile and she got tired of it. I changed the flavor to venison and chick peas. at first she was ok with not to crazy. My dog got sick with a ear infection and the only way she would eat it is with wet food mixed in thats because she was in paiun.iif i just put the dry kibble down she will not eat it. Its becoming expensive to keep buying wet. Should i changed brands?

What is the best food to feed a 55-pound highly active hound? I was told to switch to grain free, but her stool has been mucous like and runny. I've tried Redford Naturals Limited Ingredient (I've tried chicken, beef, sweet potato) and American Journey Limited ingredient (lamb). Just looking to find the best dog food for a very active hound that won't break the bank. Also, I'm concerned with all this news of heart problems linked with specific foods.
