Feed tortoises approximately 1-4% of body weight per day. This diet should be provided to tortoises at 80% or more of their daily intake. Feed consumption will vary with environmental temperatures, level of activity and animal lifestage. It is not necessary to moisten pellets with water. However, soaking the product may help to acclimate tortoises to the diet. Feed with good quality grass hay. If desired, feed fresh fruits and vegetables. Use at most 5% fruit and 20% vegetables by weight of total diet. Always provide animal with plenty of fresh, clean water. Proper humidity levels are also critical for health and proper growth of herbivores.
Thoroughly wash feed and water bowls on a regular basis. It is always good practice to wash hands thoroughly after feeding and/or handling animals.

Hello, I was wondering what would be the best food for pet mice when they are fat. His current food is: Daily blend wild harvest, his previous food was: vita prima rat mouse and gerbil formula.
I've had my Russian tortoise for about 3 years. Unfortunately he got hit by a lawn mower about 2 years ago. The vet put a fiberglass she'll on it and he seemed to be fine. Now he does not move his eyes are shut most of the time and he is eating less and less. We have been soaking him in warm water and lightly misting him with water so he can open his eyes. We usually feed him mostly romaine lettuce, spinach and collard greens. He is very picky and prefers the romaine lettuce.
Do you treat tortoises
Hello, I’d like to take proper care of my Russian tortoise and I’d like to vary its diet but have no idea what I can feed it with. It’s 12 years old and really likes sunflower shoots but I know they’re not enough. I feed it with fruit from time to time. It mostly eats rocket. I’d be grateful for any advice.
What should I do to help this poor tortoise? Can I put a little salt in its water?
I just got a three month old baby sulcata and he seems to have 3 small sores or lesions on his plastron. he's in a 40 gal tank with orchid bark. temps are 75-90 (gradient) and I soak him once a day. He has a UV light and is also getting calcium as every meal. I am overwhelmed with the abundance of misinformation I am finding on sulcata care. He eats dark leafy greens at the moment along with some grasses. He's not lethargic at all. Any ideas?
How much Fenbendazole would you give to a box turtle that weighs about to or less than 3 lbs? Where can you get it and what should I buy
I have a red eared slider who is 1 and a half year old. The commercial pellet box suggests that I feed my turtle twice as much as she can eat. Should I follow this, however even if I give 20 pellets at a time, my turtle eats it.
We have a Sulcata tortoise who is approx 6 mo old. His enclosure is kept at 85° ambient with a basking spot of around 100°, his humidity we try to keep at around 70-80% and he has a few humid places to hide. He has a UVB lamp. We feed him greens, kale, grass, and cucumbers and soak him 1-2 times per day. He has a calcium supplement that we sprinkle on his food a few times a wk. Recently his eyes have been sealed shut. He seems to be able to see somehow but we are very concerned. What can we do?
