Unfortunately, my Three-Toed Box Turtle would not touch this food. In fact, I just threw it out yesterday. I tried adding berries to it. I tried serving it wet. I tried serving it dry. Nope. He wasn't having it.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us, Cindy. We're so sorry to hear your box turtle didn't take to his new Small Tortoise LS diet. The transition can be more challenging for some pickier eaters. If you'd like to reach out to us at info@mazuri.com, we'd be happy to collect some additional information from you and help to work you through some additional tips and tricks of the trade to help your little guy adapt to his new food.

My sulcata hatchlings actually like this diet a lot as a supplement to their greens - working best right now to soak it, I feel more relaxed that they are getting proper nutrition!

Is this safe for tengus? Since there omnivores also or is it strictly for turtles ?

I would like to know if the tortoises experience any side effects from this food, I dont know if the chemicals in this food are toxic or not.

    1. I've been feeding my 10 yr old and 6 month old Leopard tortoises this their entire lives and never an issue. I feed this in addition to their leafy greens and veggies as well as foraging outside in the grass. I also use Mazuri aquatic turtle feed for my aquatic turtles as well and Mazuri mini pig active adult for my 4 4yr old mini pigs and absolutely never an issue.
