Complete and proper diet. As described, the larger pellets promote dental health. Don't be fooled by brightly colored "fancy" foods, that's a gimmick. Use these unassuming brown pellets.

If you buy the bigger bags, this food basically pays for itself. Even if you don’t have many rats, it’s worth the extra now to save later! Supplement how you wish with at home extras and treats, but you won’t find a lab block that covers all the bases and helps maintain teeth more economical than this.

My asf rats like this mazuri plus it has a higher protein then the other rat mazuri.

We have 3 male rats & were struggling to feed them because it seemed they’d burn through a seed based bag of food in a week. They were also quite chunky. So we switched to this & since it has been awesome. They appear much healthier & the 25 pound bag has lasted us MONTHS. I’m very picky & for me to rave in a review is rare.

Something changed. I’ve been buying this for about 4 years as supplemental protein for my hamsters. It usually lasts several months with no issue but this last batch was horrible. The texture changed to something super crumbly when it used to be firmer. Before I knew it seemed like half the bag had dissolved to powder. I wasn’t too upset because I knew I would probably have replaced it before getting through an entire bag. But in about 3 months time it got mold! This had never happened to me before, even past 3 months. It was kept in the same place and environmental condition as always, with the moisture absorber, so something is really off with this stuff now. I’m going to get one more bag to see if was a bad batch or a change in formulation. If it is changed, I’m looking for alternatives. If you do get it for hamsters, start freezing it and taking it out in small quantities at a time since they don’t consume it as much as rats.
