Honestly, it’s a great alternative

I started feeding my 3 female beardies and two female Leopard geckos this about a month ago and they have ALL gone for it with absolute glee! What worked for me was letting it sit for a few mins with water to soften it. I offered it on the end of a small wooden spoon (disposable from Amazon) that wouldn’t be harsh on their little teefers. I still feed the beardies fresh greens and live insects a couple of times a month but this is their staple protein now. The Leos still prefer to be spoon fed which I honestly don’t mind since I can keep track of what they are eating a little better. For those of you that have family who are squeamish about feeding live bugs, this is a great alternative! Good luck and don’t give up on this great complete diet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our baby DEVOURED this food! He had so much energy after each time he ate and I was really happy about the fact that we were feeding him nutritious food that he actually enjoyed. The price is great too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really surprised that I received this product. I have a very handsome, 10 year old, leopard gecko named Stanley. He is very spoiled and I love to get new things for him. That is why I was pleasantly surprised to actually receive something for him. As I mentioned previously, Stanley is very spoiled. He has a very strong personality and he wants what he wants, nothing less. This is especially true when it comes to his food. He will only eat superworms, no mealworms, no crickets, only superworms. His food has to be alive and it just put up a fight (but if it runs too far away, he won't chase it, he waits for me to bring it back to him). That being said, although I was pleasantly surprised to receive something for Stanley, I knew right away that he was not going to want anything to do with it. I remained hopeful though and I placed a dish full of this Mazuri Diet in his tank. Time passed, and just as I feared, he did not touch it. Because of this, I am not able to leave a honest review of this product, which is why I am leaving 3 stars. I think this product is a great idea and I definitely recommend that people try serving this to their less picky reptiles.

I'm so sorry Stanley didn't take to the diet right away. Leopard geckos are notoriously picky eaters, and it sounds like Stanley is no exception. However the Mazuri diet is a great way to ensure your gecko is getting a healthy, balanced diet and once they learn to accept it, it is a more convenient way to feed your gecko. It will take a bit of training and trying some different strategies to get geckos to accept the new food. I suggest trying the below tricks: - Keep offering it fresh daily – moist or dry. Leave some dry in a dish 24/7, this way if the gecko gets hungry and there is nothing else to eat, it might decide to give the diet a try. - Mix it into foods the gecko is eating – the food bits might stick to the bugs the gecko is eating and this might help the gecko develop a taste for it. - Offer the Mazuri food in the morning, or when the gecko is the hungriest, before offering other food items. Hopefully these tips will help Stanley learn to love his Mazuri! If you have any additional questions or would like to discuss further, contact us at info@mazuri.com. Thanks for supporting Mazuri!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was very nice and I loved having another option besides the same things I find at my pet store. Both bearded dragons approve as well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a good product, but my bearded dragon didnt eat it. She is too picky. She likes her food to move and be fresh. It would be good for babies.

She is beautiful! It's a shame she isn’t taking to the diet right away! Sometimes the transition can be tough and take lots of patience. Here are a few things that may help: - Keep offering it fresh daily – moist or dry. Leave some dry in a dish 24/7, this way if the dragon gets hungry and there is nothing else to eat, it might decide to give the diet a try. - Mix it into foods the dragon is eating – the food bits might stick to the bugs or greens the dragon is eating and this might help the dragon develop a taste for it. - Wipe some of the moistened food onto the tip of the dragon’s nose and see if it licks it off. - Offer the Mazuri food in the morning, or when the dragon is the hungriest, before offering other food items. If you'd like to discuss further, please reach out to us at info@mazuri.com and we'd be happy to chat with you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i like about this product is that its a perfect size bag for chinese water dragons, bearded dragons, and leopard geckos. Its perfect for these reptiles that eat none live food. My one leopard gecko loves this stuff she eats it like crazy. Whats nice about this reptile food is that the pellets are sephericle and is easy to digest. Leave a dish of mazuri bearded dragon food/ leopard gecko food in the cage and they will eat it when they get very hungry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately this product did not work for me. My leopard gecko was not interested in it at all. He only likes live food and would not eat this food. I wish he wouldve because it would make feeding him so much easier.

I'm so sorry to hear he isn't taking to the Bearded Dragon Diet. Leopard geckos can certainly be picky eaters and will always prefer live insects over pelleted food. Could I feed this to a blue tongue skink

Can this completely replace live food?

    1. No, this should always be fed along with live insects. Live food provides stimulation and is an essential part of a bearded dragons diet. I give my dragon Mazuri pellets with her salad and she loves it.

Is it a good idea to feed this to a bearded dragon that is between 2-5 months old?

    1. My female beardie, puff, who is 9 inches long and 3.5 months old has learned to love mazuri! I introduced it by combining mazuri with other dried veggie blends for beardies that are sold in packets for a single use, after pouring hot water on the pellets and waiting for them to absorb the water. Once the dry food absorbs most water and cools to a safe temp, I dump out any excess water and would occasionally put a mealworm or some greens on top for encouragement. Once she tried it she now happily runs over to her fresh mazuri food each morning, and get her live bugs soon after.
