Matsuba Koi is a Japanese Strain that can come in a variety of colors, but is distinguished by their diamond scales that resembles a pinecone when viewed from the top. Koi can live 25 to 35 years (some even longer) in captivity if properly cared for and can get as large as 3 feet long, so they will need quite a large space made specifically for koi. Feeding multiple times, a day is recommended, since they are very active swimmers. Koi are very messy eaters, so be sure to monitor the water quality and perform water changes as needed. They will eat just about any pellet or flake that you offer, however, be sure the food has vegetable foods in it. Freshwater food with vegetables will help prevent swim bladder problems. They are considered diggers, so use caution when adding plants because they can get uprooted. Use large rocks to help keep the plants anchored down.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

Hello, all my koi fish are becoming sick. They're demonstrating a behavior called flashing. No, they don't have visible parasites like anchor worm or fish lice so it had to a disease. Their fins are also getting torn up. They die from slowly becoming more and more inactive. Do you have any products that can help fight against this.
several of my pond goldfish have developed these growths. They are not in distress and feeding and behaving normally. I wondered if you had any idea what they could be. Vic, Clacton
