First time user. Petco employee recommended this as the usual shampoo was out of stock. The fragrance is mild and inoffensive. This shampoo left the Hovawart with dry, tangled fur. Shampoo is very dilute and it took a lot to make suds. It runs all over the dog like water. This, by far, is the nastiest shampoo I have ever used. When she was wet, I could feel the "overly dry" feeling to her coat, as if all of the natural oils had been stripped. Since 1974, I have been bathing and grooming Golden Retrievers, Cairn Terriers, and now my Hovawart for 9 years. All had long coats. I know how to bathe dogs. I start by brushing the dog with the proper rake-style comb. I remove all tangles prior to washing and cut out any mats, if needed. I clean her ears. After she is dried, I brush out all of the fur to smooth the coat. Trim her nails and grind to smooth. As I blew her dry with the Metro Dryer, the undercoat began to knot and tangle. I brushed as I blew, but her coat is tangled, dry and unmanageable. Almost sticky, despite complete rinsing. As for shiny? Not at all. It's dull, hard and lacks shine. I have never needed to condition my dog's fur after washing before. If you choose to use this shampoo, buy a conditioner with it. I know a long hair coat very well and would not recommend this to anyone with a long coat dog.

I bought this because we have 3 muddy puppies due to all the rain. Running in and out day playing then bath time. They smell great and are soft.

Over the past 25+ years we have used this product on all our dogs. It seems to be very soothing to them. I do not put it directly on their costs; I wet the dog thoroughly, squeeze some of the shampoo into some water, and pour the diluted solution gradually, slowly over their coat, rubbing it in as I go. I rinse very thoroughly, then I rinse them again! The dogs appear to love how it feels; they race and play afterwards.

Cucumber scent? I understand it says Hypo-allergenic but has no scent at all.

It leaves my dogs fur soft and shiny.my dogs have sensitive skin so the fact that it's hypoallergenic really helps.

Product overall is good but does really eliminate the odor as much as I would like. I will say it does not dry his coat out like I though it might

Simply, the best shampoo we ever had for our Cairn Terrier.

Our Pyrenees is having terrible allergies this season resulting in chronic itching and scabby skin. This shampoo was very soothing to his irritated skin. We saw a difference immediately.
