Great for My Bernese Mountain Dog
I feel confident that my Berner is warm outside in his insulted crate which is located on a covered deck. He’s a cold weather dog, but I still want extra protection for him. He stays inside the crate laying on the heating pad, on most extra cold days. Sometimes he comes out - even in the cold and sits on the deck without the heating pad. I guess it’s so that he can get a break from the warm pad. Maybe it’s too warm for him??? IDK. I’d rather him be too warm than the opposite.

Our dogs love the Lectro Kennel Outdoor Heated Pet Pads. Our outdoor dogs' houses are protected by overhead shelter, shelter on 3 sides and their insulated houses have a cover over the opening. The outdoor pet heating pads provide the final step at keeping them warm and cozy in their houses. We bought 2 from you over 10 years ago and wore them out.. Just bought 3 more and plan to get more. Nothing better at keeping dogs warm and cozy. We highly recommend K&H Lectro Kennel outdoor heated pet pads.

I'm looking at the medium size pad for two cats who will be outdoors. Is it safe to place this pad on a painted wood floor panel(we are looking to paint the cathouse we are building)? We plan on using an interior latex paint.
- Yes, that is safe.

Can this be placed on top of a foam pet bed that has a cover?
- You never want to place anything on top of or under a K&H outdoor bed or pad other than the cover provided. This cover allows the warmth to go through whereas a blanket or any other cover will trap the heat inside the bed or pad, possibly causing a malfunction.

- The small pad is 40 watts; medium pad is 60 watts; large pad is 80 watts

I have a small dog kennel. Will this heating pad take away the need for a heat lamp for new puppies?
- You would not need to use a heat lamp in conjunction with the K&H Lectro-Kennel Heated Pad. You would want to use the Lectro-Temp Control (sold separately) with the pad to lower the heat until the pups are old enough to remove themselves from the pad.

- Yes, the heat will radiate through the bottom of the pad and it will be warm under the pad at all times when plugged in.

how are these made. do they have display touch screens
- This product is made of plastic, all components are enclosed and the thermostat is preset. There is no display or touch screen, you just plug it in and it will warm to your pet's normal body temperature.

Does the warming pad turn off when dog is not lying on it?
- No, the Lectro-Kennel does not turn off when the dog is not lying on it, and we do this for a specific reason. The Lectro-Kennel will always emit heat, otherwise your pet would not know it is a heated pad and wouldn't be drawn to that heat. The surface of the pad will warm to your pet's normal body temperature when the pet is on the pad. When your pet is not on the pad the surface will be slightly above ambient air temperature and your pet will sense that little bit of extra warmth.

K&H electro-soft and other pads say they are thermostatically controlled, but it never says at what temperature they are maintained? How do they work?
- The Lectro-Kennel and Lectro-Soft are thermostatically controlled to maintain a temperature of about 102 when your pet is on the pad. When your pet is not lying on the pad the surface temperature of the pad will be about 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature. These products are MET listed to UL standards for safety.
