My kitten likes to scratch my wooden chair, doors,and occasionally the door frames. I bought her a wooden cat scratcher with catnip and all she does is bite, sleeps, and lays on it. Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good scratching post? Sisal rope, Sisal carpet, and etc?

Ever since our kitten (now about 7 months) came to us at six weeks, he scratches compulsively at his right ear while he is playing.
