The kids really seemed to love this! When it was listed as a large sized toy, I figured it would be enough for our long haired shepherd and his golden-doodle sister. They weee super excited when the box arrived and even more so when they realized it really was for them. There is no smell and the cactus is sturdy. The rope is thinner than I would prefer for these two monsters, but we always watch them, so no real worries. The biggest issue I have is that our shepherd, Chewy, can’t hold the rope all that well. The space between the knot and the cactus is rather small for his giant head/mouth. Now if Alice, the doodle, gets the rope end - game on. We did take it to the dog park and beach this past weekend. It doesn’t float, but they had a great time sharing with their doggie pals. Status? Still intact, even with boisterous play from all sizes of pups and generous time in saltwater. I’d say it’s a win - made it more than a day!!

Super cute and durable! My dog loves to chew on the green rubber part. I would consider her a “super chewer” and she hasn’t destroyed this toy yet! That’s a huge compliment in my book! The rope is perfect or tug of war or throwing and it keeps my energetic dog entertained.

Thank you Petco for sending me this toy in exchange for my honest review! The toy arrived and Oakley immediately wanted to play. It was a bit smaller than I had imagined but that didn’t matter to Oakley. It’s sturdy enough to withstand a corgi tug, however, she was skeptical at first with the short rubber bumps (the cactus spikes). As most corgi-sharks are, she believes that everything needs to be destroyed and she was able to chew some bits off the rubber. Destroying the edges didn’t impact the tug ability and many more tugs were had. If your dog is a moderate chewer and likes tug, this is definitely a toy for them!

Took it straight into her kennel and started chewing on the rope. She was so happy with her new toy that she stayed in her kennel with it instead of joining me outside where I was grilling steaks! I haven’t see her chewing on it since then but it’s still in her kennel so she likely is still enjoying it. I do see a little nick in the toy itself so not sure how long it will last.
