I am very pleased with Avi-Era Bird Vitamin Powder. Have been adding to my Jamaican Amazon's water for 22 years, and she has no problem drinking it.

Check the expiration date when you receive it. It usually takes me 6 months to finish once I open the container. The one I just received from Petco Online has an expiration date of next month!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this but the scoop was not included. I'm not sure if the bottle itself is supposed to be sealed, but the one I got was not. I'm too afraid to even give it to my bird fearing the box and bottle it came with had already been opened.

No, I do not recommend this product.

great! only issue is there;s always too much product for our conure, so it always expires before we're finished with the batch. would be nice to have a smaller version. but overall, love LaFaber brand.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Do you think this will help with fatty liver disease? My birds droppings have been a bit runny and smelly, which wasn't like that before and his beak grows extremely fast. By adding these do you think it will help his liver and immune system??

  1. I cannot answer that question...and doubt many bird owners can since there could be genetic or food related issues. . We've had our Umbrella cockatoo for over 35 years with no such problem. I would strongly suggest you contact an avian veterinarian or the avian specialist at a major zoo. We have used LaFeber's vitamins all his life. He will likely outlive us. BTW we also feed him fresh vegetables, beet stems, small pieces of corn on the cob, bok choy leaves, mango, the tender inner parts of celery. Seed alone is not sufficient for a healthy diet.

Can this help my parrotlet with her screaming and biting problems?

  1. When I got my conure he was feather challenged, and still is—he is missing chest, back and under wing feathers. Finally discovered this is why he nips, screams, pulls feathers etc. when he’s itchy. Have been applying a Natrapet plumage and skin conditioner, but lately it’s getting tricky to apply, he needs it daily—quickly dab his skin with the liquid, really calms him down—proof the itching really aggravates him. Recently added red palm oil to his food, recommended by bird store. Also going to upgrade his vitamins to better quality since he’s a seed eater.
