We absolutely love this bag and my 17lb dog fits very comfortably. A mishap led me to contact customer service and I was shocked with the prompt response and how helpful they are. These bags are worth every penny, no only for the quality, which is great, but also for the customer service which is wonderful!

I’ve had this bag for more than a year, my 17.5lbs dog loves it. It’s a very comfortable way to carry the dog when he gets tired or if the weather isn’t great for him to walk. The bag had a sturdy bottom so the weight is spread evenly and my back doesn’t hurt. This bag doesn’t have big outside pockets to hold water bottles or other bulky things but the comfort makes up for whatever it lacks.

I’ve bought it in NL and like the quality and looks. It’s better than the backpacks I’ve seen so far. It keeps my pup dry and he really appreciates that very much ;-). Since I bought it to relieve my lower back I would have appreciated a hip strap and the availability to lower the chest strap. Looking forward to many adventures with my dachshund pup. He’s quite lazy at times. It’s also great to use when cycling. Since it’s cold now, I add an extra blanket to keep the pup warm. Only the cushion on the bottom is padded.

I have had this backpack for well over a year now and I have to say, it’s the most thought out, well designed dog carrier I‘ve ever seen. I use it all the time, even for non-dog purposes. It’s sturdy, it’s convenient, it has a flap that is breathable, so I can safely close it up with the dog inside… Once, I accidentally spilled half a water bottle in this backpack, but the removable black mat inside is so absorbent, that everything inside the backpack and the outside remained entirely dry. Worth. Every. Cent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect for small dogs that you want to take hiking with you. This K9 Rucksack is easy to carry and it is easy to clean. My little dog loved the mesh window when it had to be zipped closed. It still let him see the world and I didn't have to worry about him jumping out when I was riding my bike or hiking up rough terrain. I have even taken my dog to community events in the K9 Rucksack and he behaves very well in it. He gets excited to get inside because he knows it's like his second home. I have recommended this to other pet parents with small dogs. It's wonderful!

Rating 5 stars because it’s a nice quality bag and would work well for some, but ultimately I returned this. I have a 10 lb maltipoo. I chose to purchase this bag because I liked how it looked aesthetically, I liked that when it’s closed up you can’t necessarily tell there’s a dog inside, and I liked that it would be maybe a little bit more spacious for him compared to other backpacks. These things are true. The depth and width was really nice, and I think he could have curled up on the bottom and laid down if he wanted. It’s taller than he needs, and the opening is almost too tall for him – the picture where his head is barely sticking out, that is him sitting normally. But we could have worked with that. Ultimately I wasn’t going to be able to use this because it’s so big on me. I’m 5’2”, pretty petite, and I think this thing just looked absolutely ridiculous on me lol. It’s massive like a hiking backpack is massive. If the purpose of you purchasing this is to go hiking, maybe the largeness won’t bother you (or if you’re taller than me, the largeness probably wouldn’t bother you). But the purpose of this bag for me is to be able to discreetly bring my dog places with me, like into stores. Though maybe you wouldn’t know I had a dog with me, I don’t think I will look very discreet and people may question if I’m there to steal things lol. Now that I’ve returned this, I’m considering Kurgo’s new Nomad Carrier backpack which is smaller (the main reasons I didn’t buy this one originally is because, one, I don’t love the colors – and also it’s not on Petco‘s website yet, and I had rewards to use lol). I read some reviews that mentioned this bag losing its shape or falling down on the dog.. it didn’t necessarily collapse, but the shape can be a little wonky. It’s firm as to not collapse, but flexible and bendable at the same time where in certain places it will “bend” in a way that makes it lose the “backpack shape” and just looks a little weird… I also included a picture to hopefully show that the shape can be a little awkward. And that’s without the dog inside. Anyways, it’s a nice bag. And especially for people who want a backpack for their dog that’s more like 20 lbs - it’s nice to have an option for a dog that’s just a little bit bigger in size. But yea it’s just too big for my small frame.
