Perfect solution

Very well made. I like being able to keep an eye on my dog while in the car and know he is strapped in and safe. He enjoys being able to see out the window and when he's tired he can lay down and sleep. Definitely recommend.

Traveling Safely and Stylish

I am so pleased with Kurgo's Dog Booster Seat. My 5 month Havanese (9 lbs) sits very comfortably in it. She has not be the best "traveler" so far, but then she had no view from the kennel type carrier she was riding in. I love Sophia can now see where we're going, and do it safely. The seat is so well made and was super easy to install. Great product!!

Good car seat for cats too

I wanted to try a booster seat for my traveling cats, Cheech and Chongo. I've used kurgo products with my dogs in the past, so it's a brand I know and trust. After looking at reviews for the booster seat, I bought one at a local Petsmart. Sadly, they only had 1 so the Kits took turns on our first trip with it. They seemed to enjoy being able to look out, and I'll have to find a second seat. The carabiner is not ideal however, and I think I'll replace it with a leash clip instead. One question I have is, why is the tether attached to the seatbelt? It seems to me having it attached to the seat is enough, but maybe I'm missing something. I look forward to using this more.

We appreciate you taking the time to share this review of your kitties' new booster seat, Mary! We hope they have many wonderful trips in it. In case this information is helpful, the tether attaches to the seatbelt for increased stability and safety.

My dog loves it

I'm very pleased with this booster seat. It is roomy enough for my 12 lb spaniel to sit up or lie down. It was easy to install and seems sturdy. Very satisfied!

Purchased so our new pup (12 lb mix) would have a safe place to ride and be able to see out the window. She's happy and we're happy. She's up to about 18 lbs and still fits comfortably. The build quality is good, and can compress down to save space when not in use. Note that it "floats" above the seat bottom, hanging from the headrest and supported by a wraparound strap. It easier to install on a captains chair than on a bucket/row. We clip the seat's built in 'biner to her harness after wrapping it around the seat belt shoulder strap.

Questions

Having the seat in the front, what happens if the passenger air bag deploys? Is it safe in the front?

  1. Thank you for asking about this! Most passenger seats do have a weight sensor, so the airbag would not turn on with this booster seat hanging from the headrest. If you have a car that does not have a weight sensor, we would recommend placing the booster seat in the back for increased safety.

My Miniature Schnauzer is 17 lbs. Would he fit comfortably in this booster seat? Do you ship to Cyprus (Europe)?

  1. I think so. My bigger dog is 14 lbs and she has lots of space. Both of my dogs love their booster seats and happily sit in them even if they aren't strapped in.

Can this car seat fit 2 small dogs (both around 8-10)? I would want to make sure that they both have plenty of room when traveling.

  1. I have a Chihuahua, she weighs 8lbs and I wouldn't add another Chihuahua in there with her. They wouldn't have space to move comfortably. I'm in the process of buying a second one for my new Chihuahua puppy, it's a great secure seat, my dog loves it!

I would like to buy a cushion for added padding. The bottom is not very padded. Is something like that available?

  1. I'm not sure if the manufacturer sells a specific pad for the bottom of this, but I would recommend that you honestly don't need one. We bought this exact model for our Yorkie who LOVED it on our road trip from Arizona to Oregon and back this summer. I just used a towel/dog blanket at the bottom. Our little girl curled up for most of the trip and felt so secure in her seat. It was a total game changer!

My 5 lb Pom likes to look out the window. How high up will she be sitting in this car seat?

  1. Thank you for your great question. The booster seat's height is adjustable as you tighten or loosen the strap that wraps around the headrest.

Are the sides reinforced so it doesn't collapse?

  1. Hello! The Heather Booster Seat is held up by gravity over a bucket or the smaller side of a split bench seat by means of headrest straps. It does not have reinforced sides that enable it to sit on a seat and not collapse.
