No match for a 10-month-old Italian Greyhound's teeth. I left it clipped to her crate, she pulled it in, and almost chewed it in two. Sorry, I didn't have it long enough to really notice anything else.

Quality leash. However, since the last model, they’ve changed the handle option to not be as comfortable. Clips are high quality and strong. Ability to choose different lengths is very helpful. Has random metal clip that is not very useful and difficult to remove.

I've been using Quantum leashes for my two dogs for about 6 years at this point. They've been great for running and walking especially with two dogs. I do however prefer version 1. I had to replace one of my old leashes last week and bought version 2. There are two features that I do not like on this one, the clasp and bag holder. The old clasp was bigger and quicker to clip. It also had a bottle opener section that I used to hook my poop bag holder, keys and already open bags so they're ready to go on cold days while I'm wearing gloves. I do appreciate the thoughtfulness of the used poop bag clip added on but it just digs into my back and I typically carry my bags by hand for easy disposal. Overall, I prefer version 1 but I'll still be using this leash.

Kurgo used to make great stuff. Then venture capital came calling and accountants started designing the stuff using Microsoft Excel focusing on margin only. Net result is Chinese made crap being sold for high prices, and accountants all get big bonuses. Stay away, nothing like it used to be. Sad the whole world is being ruined by focus on anything but the actual quality of the product in companies run by clueless greedy people.

I really love this invention that allows different walkers to easily change out leash and readjust it in seconds. But the sharp, molten thread ends snag my clothes and skin. There's got to be a different way to assemble this otherwise brilliant leash!

In case this information is helpful, it is crucial to melt the high quality nylon in these leashes at connection points to prevent fraying and contribute to longevity of the leash. This does by nature cause very small areas of hardened material. With this being said, these areas are typically unnoticed due to their size, so experiencing difficulty with these is unusual. It is always better to improve a product rather than make it cheaper and less useful. I have bought Kurgo over the years because of the quality. In fact, my old quantum leash is in good working shape, just starting to look rough after very heavy use. When I opened the new one I thought I ordered the wrong thing or that it was a knock-off. The clasps are cheap, hard to use, there's no handle, and what is that useless buckle with the bungee strap? I am also very petite and this doesn't provide enough lead if you put it around your shoulder- just get a normal leash at that point. In summary, don't waste your money.

Please know that our products are still made to our same quality standards, and the changes to this leash were all made with our customers and their pets in mind. The carabiners were changed to be smaller and lighter both to reduce the weight of the leash and also to make use with small dogs easier and more comfortable. After nearly 4 years of at least twice daily use, our first leash started to fall apart - both clips broke. But even though we could get a replacement under warranty, I was happy to buy another. I think we got our money's worth and it's such a great product.
