The plastic “wrapper” that makes the crackling noise was off before we got home, and one end of the bone was chewed off in another half hour. That would have been chewed up and swallowed had we not taken it away.

Terrible chew toy for serious chewers. The crackly plastic was off shortly after the 20 min drive home and the bone was fully destroyed in the next half hour.

I bought this toy a month ago for my new 45lb pointer mix. She really liked it, but she didn’t spend too much time with it as she was still acclimating to her new home and the toy lasted about a month. Today, I went to Petco and bought her another as I know she liked it and I figured $10 for a month of play isn’t too bad. But when we got home I gave it to her and she destroyed it in 5 minutes. I’m not exaggerating. There are obvious seams on either end of the toy and she pulled one apart and then picked a piece off and tried to eat it. The product description literally says “perfect for pups who love to play hard” and “perfect for bigger dogs who like to chew and play rough” and I have to say we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on that one, Kong. I’ve only had my dog for 5 weeks and I’m already sick of descriptions that say toys are great for dogs that love to chew but end up in pieces in a matter of days (or in this case, minutes). I’ve always heard such good things about Kong, I guess I expected better.

This toy is mesmerizing to my relative’s puppy! He absolutely loves the crunchy sound. It sounds just like mores-code! ;D I’m not sure how durable it is because he’s not left alone with it, but he has done some serious chewing on it, and the crunchy thing inside isn’t as strong as it was, but outside is still in great shape!
