These attractive snakes are desirable because they are readily tamed. Captive-bred rosy and sand boas are usually very docile.

A well-balanced sand boa diet consists of appropriately sized frozen rodents, thawed/warmed to above room temperature. If feeding your snake live rodents, do not leave them unattended. Live rodents can injure the snake, sometimes fatally. Feed juveniles once a week, adults every one to two weeks. Feed in a separate tank so that your snake doesn't associate your hand or the habitat being opened with feeding. Fresh, clean, chlorine-free water should be available at all times in a bowl large enough for your snake to soak in.
Always wash your hands before and after handling your reptile and/or habitat contents to help prevent the potential spread of diseases.

What snakes are the easiest to care for as a first-time owner?
I'm going to buy my first ball python what are healthy signs of a python?
I have a new Ball Python that eats allright, but it stays in it's hide all the time, day and night. I keep the temperature gradient consistant. The hide is the black square with a hole in one end. I feed him in a separate clear habitat. The substrate is aspen bedding wich, consists of perfectly square 3mm pieces that stick to every thing it comes in contact withincluding the snake wich is covered. I have to mist more than seven times a day to keep the humidity above 40%. One quart at a time.
My snake has a lump towards the middle of his body and recently regurgitated, maybe a month ago. I fed him a rat pup or mouse maybe two weeks ago to see if it was a digestive issue and he still hasn’t seemed to poop. And the lump is still there.. hasn’t really grown much but it’s definitely noticeable. Is a maybe 8-10 year old desert Cali king. I bought him from Beverlys pet center as an adult, and have had him 7 years.
Do my snakes eyes look unusual?
My ~3yo male snow corn snake (about 4ft long and about 530 grams) has some bumps on his side. They don't appear to be painful. His behavior hasn't changed since he got them. My best guesses are either internal parasites or fat bumps despite him not seeming overweight.
Hello I have a columbian boa about 2 years old and she has been hiding and breathing with her mouth open any idea of what may cause this
My ball python (about a year old) started shedding, got it off its head and just stopped. Its been a fewm weeks and his old skin is still on him. He still eats like a pig. Im very worried!
My corn snake (unsure of age, around 1 or 2) hasn't been eating for the past 3 weeks. I soaked her tonight and she defecated. She's not dehydrated, I see her drink. Her cage temp is a steady 70 cool end, 85 warm end. I tried braining a mouse for her, I have only had her for a few months and don't know too much about her. She is active and loves to be on my neck, but I don't know if I should worry. Some snakes refuse food when the weather changes and it's just become Spring, but I'm worried.
patternless leopard gecko body compulsion waves contracting and growling
Hi! I have a single Corn Snake that has lived on their own for their life ever since they were an infant snake. After a week or so of odd behavior I have just come home from work to what appears to be a single Egg in the Viv. I didn't realise before now that snakes still lay eggs without a partner to fertilize them, but I'm not sure what to do.
My western hognose snake was mostly happy all the time, very social. One day i tried to feed him and he declined that meal.I Got a little concerned and made sure his frozen mouse was nice and warm, it was. I waited until the next day and tried to feed him a different mouse.(knowing not to feed an old mouse) He hasn’t shed in almost a couple months.(i think that means he’s done shedding?i don’t really know) I’m hoping to find a definite answer as to why he won’t eat, it’s now been two weeks.
