Feeding Hints: Make sure feeders are always full and accessible; free from snow, moisture, and other debris. Tube and covered platform feeders are the most efficient ways of offering Kaytee Waste Free Wild Bird Food. To avoid conflict between the larger cardinals and blue jays and the smaller goldfinches, nuthatches, and pine siskins, place Kaytee Waste Free Wild Bird Food in a tube feeder a short distance from the covered platform feeder. For best viewing, place feeders a short distance from the house, not far from a bush or tree. Birds like to first fly to cover and look around before approaching the feeder. Feeders should be cleaned at least twice a year. Be sure to provide a constant supply of fresh water, especially during the harsh winter months.

Is the feed small enough to fit though a small wire finch feeder?
- We recommend a smaller seed or blend that is specifically for small wire finch feeders, like the Kaytee Thistle Seed Wild Bird Food, found here: https://bit.ly/2PqP8Kz

Why do you include millet? I've read that it's a cheap filler seed. Also, what is canary seed?
- I understand Barbies question. Millet is Indeed a filler. Sparrows like and are a pest bird. Song birds toss this FILLER to the ground as they do Not want. Throw Millet out in the wintertime when food is less available. Then it will eaten. en.
