Feeding Instructions The following feeding amounts are designed as a starting point and should be adjusted for your small animal. The portion is for one animal. Adjust if more animals are fed. Suggested Daily Feeding Amount: Small rabbit feed 1/4-1/2 cup Large rabbit feed 1/2 to 1 cup Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water in a Kaytee water bottle if possible. Best results are obtained by feeding only the amount the animal will consume in one day. Discarding the uneaten portion and clean food container before next feed. This is the food we use for our adult rabbits (I'd recommend a food specific to young rabbits--1 year old or less). It has good nutritional content and the rabbits really like it. The foods that have the fake carrots and such in it may look good to a human, but my rabbits at least couldn't care less for it. This non-sexy pellet-only food is plenty good for them. My problem is that one of the rabbits likes it a bit too much, so we have to be careful not to overfeed him and make sure he has more opportunity to eat hay than pellets. It's actually good practice to push hay over pellets. My method is to simply give less pellets and make sure there's plenty of fresh hay.

I have been feeding Kaytee Supreme Pellets to my House bunny for 3 years now. I also give him hay, fresh greens, fruits, & treats, but he always finishes his pellets. If there are any left over pellets, I toss them & give him fresh daily.

I recently got a mini lop bunny and when being given to me the previous caretaker had fed him Kaytee pellets. Of course, I went to go buy the same brand, knowing how picky some pets can be. One thing to note about this particular pellet (and its perhaps my own sensitive nose,) is that it has a strong smell. To what, I am not sure, but its as if every time I open the bag I am attacked by a scratch and sniff of every pellet smell condensed in one small area. My rabbit, on the bright side, does not seem to care and happily munches away. So happily in fact, he stopped eating his hay the first day I gave him these pellets (I had given him more than I normally did) which was hilariously scary for a first time bunny owner. Its a good brand overall, and the amount of pellets is plenty. I thought two bags wouldn't be that much until I picked them up and saw they were the length of my torso.

Alfalfa pellets shouldn't be fed to adult rabbits. Disappointed that it did not clearly state they were alfalfa in the title or description.
