Would this work for a adult male rat
- I wouldn’t use it for them to run around in because of the size, but I bought this size and hung it in my cage with the lid off, and my rats would use it to cuddle.

How to open it in half for cleaning?
- The lid is as far as the ball will open. Trying to disassemble it will break the plastic pins and render it useless. Just reach your hand in with a scrub brush to clean the inside.

Are this hamster balls good for Syrian hamster.
- Exercise balls are not good for all rodents. It is best to use them as hidey houses instead and allow them to put their bedding in it and burrow in it. If you choose to use an exercise ball it can cause their backs arch hurting them as well as, they make them feel confined in a small space. Unlike we are led to believe hamsters like at least 425 square feet of space and they love to exercise and run around. I have had at least almost five Syrian hamsters in the last 7 years and have learned so much such as not keeping them in small cages, not letting them use exercise wheels and more. If it is possible please look up the hamster forum and it will provide you with all the answers that you need to best care for your Syrian hamster by making them comfortable and happy throughout there lives.

I would to know can this ball be used for my Guinea pig around the apt for exercise? or should i take him outside on a leash?
- I'm so glad that someone from Kaytee said that these balls are NOT recommended for guinea pigs. The leash isn't either. Guinea pig spines are very delicate and if they have their back bent it could cause a lot of injuries including breaking their back. They are great for hamsters and gerbils, just not for piggies.

Can a roboraski fit in here
- Yes, it will fit. Another option is the 5" size if your hamster is small.
