Nice mix to attract different types of birds

I order this bird seed and make my own seed cylinders. It has a good mix to attract all different types of birds (woodpecker, nuthatch, titmouse and many others). The squirrels love it too, so I often add some hot pepper into the cylinder. It does have sunflower seed with shells, so it does create a bit of a mess under the feeder. In addition to a couple of different types of seeds, it also has a few peanuts and pieces of fruit in it, which I think it what attracts some of the larger birds.

Sorry to see others didn't have the great experience I do. Birds and squirrels in my yard love this mix! Within the seeds listed are peanuts (I've always known bird feed peanuts to be raw, not cooked and never salted). Also in this mix are whole, dired cherries. The aroma when I open the bag is beautiful. And the price at Petco is the best around. This is a rich formula I've been buying for almost 4 years.

I have been purchasing Kaytee Nut & Fruit for years and, as of late, perhaps over the last year, each bag is made up of 80-90% black oil sunflower seed. Why? Disappointing and misleading. The black oil sunflower seed is the cheapest part of the mix.
- I had noticed the same thing, a while back. And it's not just this mix. It's all bird seeds across the board. (I buy a lot of seed.) A Google search about wild bird seed quality decline revealed that this is happening because of things like droughts, a drop in quality control, and many other reasons. So, I'm guessing this is the new normal.

In the photos, the 10lb bag looks different than the 20lb bag. Am I to assume the 20lb bag is a cheaper blend (more millet) considering the low price?

Are the peanuts cooked or raw?
- Heck, I don't even know if there are peanuts in the mix. What I do know is that I get Cardinals, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, and some sort of small green and small red migratory Tweeties in the winter here in South Fla. And, of course, the ever present Crows - ugh! Oh yeah, lots of Doves pecking in the grass under the feeder for what the Woodpeckers toss out.
