When introducing a new food begin with a mixture of old and new food, gradually increase the amount of new food over a seven to ten day period. For best results discard any uneaten portion and clean food dish before next feeding. Fresh water should be available at all times. The following feeding amounts can be used as a starting point for one bird. Adjust the portions to maintain proper weight and if additional birds are fed. 1-3 tablespoons. For maximum freshness, store in a cool, dry location. Reseal between each use. Refrigerate or freeze for extended storage.

food for parrolett
- I've bred blue parrotlets several years ago and have never heard of what you mentioned although I haven't kept up with studies. I presently breed large parrots. The colored seed in this product I believe is the fortified portion for their additives. I've always fed fresh fruits and vegetables along with seed and zupreem pellets. Never had a problem. I do believe you should never raise any bird/parrot on seed alone which will cause many problems, especially fatty liver. I also provide filtered water.
