Cage is way too small, I wouldn’t reccomend this for a ferret

I bought an older version of this cage years ago, and it has been my go-to rat house. Since my original had seen better days, I decided to buy the new model to replace it. There have been some changes, and most of them for the better. I love the new secure locks and the addition of another shelf. My only complaint (and the reason I can't give it a full five stars) is that the bar spacing is not uniformly one-inch. The space where the doors connect is slightly larger, and has some give. This would probably be fine for larger males, but my smallest female has taken to sneaking out for late night adventures and I had to resort to wiring the space closed to keep her in. All in all, I still love this cage. There's ample space, it's easy to clean, and has a small footprint for all of the room it offers. Just be prepared to do some slight modification if you're keeping smaller rats.

Aside from the fact the sides won't stay clipped together I've had this cage for 4 months and one of my ferrets has now learned how to open the top hatch to escape so now I had to add D rings and rope all around the top to keep it shut and she is constantly chewing at the rope. The way the top works all they have to do is push up with their heads and eventually they will figure it out. I'm seriously so angry because for the price it should have lasted more than 4 months and I can't afford a different cage at the moment.

Received 2 ferrets and this cage was recommended. What a horror my one keeps slipping through the bars and almost got seriously hurt. No receipt so I cant do anything. Cage sits empty in garage.

Ordered this cage for my ferrets and when I received the box was completely smashed and taped up like it had been opened, when i went to get it out it had in fact veen opened and apparently used because there was dried food all over it. I contacted customer support to request a replacement which they did, i received that cage yesterday in the same opened used condition as the first one I got! It is completely ridiculous especially since i paid almost 200.00 for this cage and both that they sent me had been used and returned ! I will be taking my business elsewhere.

It’s very cheaply made. The slide was broken but I needed this cage in an emergency situation. No choice but to keep it because the stores are so poorly stocked! Had to keep a rescued ferret in a pet taxi until the cage came in. The locks are awful, cheap and hard to open/close. The metal is not coated to prevent rusting. It’s just cheap wire. All around it keeps her from escaping but that’s the only pro. One pro and tons of cons.

I bought this cage less than a week ago and once I opened the box and begun putting it together, I noticed the bars in the corner are broken and bent. The slide collapsed almost immediately upon use and the bars near the tray were bent and in two places were broken pretty badly, leaving a huge space. Wish I would have kept the receipt, because now all I can do is toss it and move on. Buyer beware! Keep your receipt if buying this particular cage; chances are you will need it.

I love the concept of this cage. It just wasn't executed very well. In just a couple of months my ferret has managed to break about half of the bars off making the holes much bigger. The Ramps don't stay on so I don't even bother with them anymore and the "slide" was broken before they could use it. I'm giving it 3 stars because I do like it I just wish it was a little more durable for the money.
