Do NOT buy this cage for any animal. It is extremely cruel and inhumane as live animals need way more space than this, and putting them in this is straight out abusive. Petco needs to stop even selling such cages. No animal should have to live there life in such a small place. Please do not buy.

On the smaller side
We used this cage to attach to a larger cage for my son's 1st hamster. It is small (even for a dark hamster) so we used this cage for sleeping a d our bugger one for fun & toys. I'm looking for a replacement piece and can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help? It's the circular part on the top that twists off. Ours is missing somehow.

Maple love her roomy home
I got a dwarf hamster 4 days ago and the cage as will me and my boyfriend went to pet smart to look at some Hamster then I saw this little lonely hamster in the Conner all alone and I knew she she wanted to come home while he was looking at the home he said this be perfect and it's is just the whell need to replace that easy the water got replaced and maple she love her new home she got alot of room to play

I think this cage needs improvements. If you take account to this message, please try to improve your hamsters care. This cage is way too small! It has no room for bedding, and the wheel is too small. This product is not suitable for hamsters. Please consider improving your hamsters and pet products

Surprisingly amazing cage!
Honestly a really great cage. I got my robo hamster at the beginning of January (At a local family-owned pet store, not Petco) and she got accustomed to it immediately. It's a well made cage, though I probably wouldn't recommend putting a Syrian hamster in it. It's the perfect height and my Pudding especially loves the top part. The water bottle was a bit iffy at first, because my hamster didn't drink from it much, but then she was fine with it a few weeks later. I will admit that the wheel is a little loud, but then again, I am a heavy sleeper. You might not want this cage if you will be awoken at a sudden loud noise. Very good quality cage and perfect for beginning hamster/mice owners!

Eh.
It only gets two stars cuz it keeps my mouse in. It was poorly made and for the price. Ridiculous. Also, I wouldn't need the cage if they hadn't sold me a male and female mouse.

Not suitable for any size pet.
These products are horribly undersized and poorly made. I only purchased this as an add on to the new Kaytee larger cage system. The plan was to use this as a sand bath area for a Syrian hamster. It is just to horrible to support as a product. The tubes are also way to small for a Syrian. Returned.

Quality additional cage with added benefits
Bought this as an add-on (connected via tubes) to our other larger cage. It's the quality of material I expect from Kaytee brand. This has been a nice addition, giving our hamster more living space overall, and it will make a convenient travel/short-term cage when/if we need to take her to a pet-sitter while we are on vacation.
One of my favorite features of this cage is the upper deck area. Our hamster likes to sleep up there, and it is sweet to be able to watch her snuggle in. It is also an easy access point to take her out for playtime.

How do you remove the yellow "J" tube without breaking it. Is there a safe way to take it off without breaking it the tube or the cage? I've tried with a lot of force and feel like I might break it.

I have my Syrian in this cage is it to small?
- It is a small cage for a Syrian hamster. I have my adult hamster in there during the day because he sleeps up top in the little closed in area. At night I put him in a 116 quart plastic bin with a large silent spinner and a saucer spinner and boxes and toys, a water bottle and food dish of course! He stays in there for a few hours then usually goes back in his cage with his food and goes back to sleep. The Critter Trail wheel is too small for a Syrian hamster. If they bend there body on a wheel it is too small. Maybe you can attach a plastic bin to it by the tube. Good Luck with your Syrian. I’ve had 2 so far, love them:) I had both for about 2 years each. They must also live alone or they will fight and someone will get hurt.

Does it come with a food bowl and water thing?
- It comes with a water bottle and wheel and I think a food bowl too. Wheel is fine for dwarf hamsters but too small for Syrians.

What is the length of this cage and also wheel size? If the wheel gets to small will it fit a bigger wheel? Can serians live in this cage?
- all hamsters need the same amount of floor space so a dwarf so a syrin couldn't fit this cage. using a bin cage is bigger, better, and cheaper
