Bought this today for a newly weaned guinea pig. Got it home and it didn’t have the water bottle or the bedding included. The box was perfectly sealed, with no damage. Other than that, the cage is in great shape. I just hated to pay the price, and had to go out and buy a water bottle & bedding that I wasn’t expecting to buy.

I purchased this cage at beginning of the summer for a single Guinea pig that I took from a friend. I rated it 3 stars because it’s hard to get inside the cage to clean or change the bedding or to take our Guinea pig out. It’s not even big enough for 1 Guinea pig as there’s no extra room for him to run around at all.. he gets taken our daily for an hour for excersise and play.. I am planning on getting a bigger easier access cage shortly..

This is animal abuse. Guinea pigs need at least 8-10 feet of space and they have to be feed a hay diet and pellets not made with dyes and chemical additives like are found in Kaytee brand. Its heartbreaking. Please ban these types of cages and ban Kaytee brand

I made this mistake when buying my guinea and im regretting it :( this is way too tiny for a guinea and advertises the fact that you're only supposed to have one, which is completely untrue... pleasee, BUILD A CAGE YOURSELF OR GET A BIG ONE, AND MAKE SURE YOU GET MORE THAN ONE!!!

Got this when I got my Guinea pig and I was told that I should get 2 Guinea pigs at that time. This cage is too small for one Piggie there is no way you can put two in this cage.

Could I house a hamster in this cage
- It does exceed the minimum of 450 square inches, however your hamster could escape very easily through 1" bar spacing and you'd have to throw away some of the guinea pig stuff. It's also way overpriced AND you'd have to mesh over the wires, which would add another 20$. Overall, I wouldn't. I truly hope that you didn't listen to the other answers.

Is this cage big enough for 1 guinea pig and hideaways? Im 10 years old getting my first guinea pig, I want to know if it's big enough.
- I know that this question is old, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get two guinea pigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I was little, all my friends had just one guinea pig (I had two). Every time I would tell my closest friend to get another guinea pig, she just told me, "you don't need to have two! Look at her run! She's happy." Lo and behold, her guinea pig died at less than three years old. My oldest one (remember, I had two) lived to be 7 years old! Also, for two guinea pigs, this is TOO SMALL.

- Yea, a mild warming pad can be used in here. The bottom is cheap plastic. So make sure the pad does not get too hot

Is this cage big enough for a forever home for a guinea pig?
- Absolutely not. Honestly the amount of people in the reviews saying their guinea pigs are in this and that it's a good size is so appalling. Please do research before getting a guinea pig. Not only can they live up to 8 years, but they REQUIRE a MINIMUM of 8 sq ft, which is 48x24. This Kaytee cage is purely a *very* temporary cage or travel cage. Guinea pigs should also be in pairs, and this cage is absolutely not big enough for one, let alone two.

can the guinea pigs get out of this cage?
- We’ve had our sweet Aristotle for about a year now and have no problems with him escaping from this cage. He can crawl out if we leave it open for him though, which we do sometimes to give him time to play with his puppy sister❤️

Could you use this cage for a rabbit
- No way. Rabbits are great pets if you do the right research. They love to run around and play with toys. You would basically stripping your pet of its freedom. you'll find that a puppy play pen and an old rug you don't care about underneath (for support of the feet and a bit of grip) will make your rabbit really happy and you'll find that it helps the bond between you and your rabbit.

Can I keep my Syrian hamster in this cage?
- Do not get the critter trail cages!!! Hamsters need a minimum of 450 square inches! I would recommend a 40 gallon fish tank, much cheaper then buying 5 critter trails and tubes and stays in perfect condition for a lot longer !!!
