Works great, does the job. Love the diff colors you can get

I bought this bedding about a week ago and it is not good. It smells really bad. I got some other Kaytee hamster bedding and it was great but I got the white one and not purple. It is not as soft as it should be it feels like paper. You can smell my hamsters pee when you walk into the room. The other one I got you couldn’t. But I don’t know what is wrong with this one but it is just not good. Don’t buy this save you self some money.

I baught it noticed it looked a bit wet when I got home and when I pulled it out it was all molded. Disappointed

Although the price is very tempting, it is NOT a good investment. The quantity seems enough to cover the space of 14 in x 28 in Feeding area for a Guinea Pig, for about 4 changes every 14 days or 2 weeks. However, after only 3 or 4 days, it is obvious that the bedding does NOT absorb the guinea pig's pee as well. The floor is constantly wet, making it challenging for the Guinea Pig to find a dry stop while enjoying her meal/snacks. Additionally, since it never dryes or absorbs the pee properly, the area has a musky smell. Also, because it is hard to control the fluffiness of the bedding (*if you put too little, it does not absorb enough or if you put too much, the paper is too loose and flies a lot when the Guinea Pig moves), it makes a mess when the Guinea Pig comes in and out of her feeding area since the paper sticks to her nails. I usually change the bedding every week and half or even 14 days with other brands. But with this bedding, if I do not change it after a few days, the floor is continuously wet, as the pee goes under as if there was almost NO bedding. If I calculate that in a period of 14 days, I had to change the bedding about 4 times, then the price is ONLY worthed if a comparable product is 4 times as expensive. However, even if the price was not much of a factor, the hassle of having to change the bedding after a few days, the inconvenience of having the Guinea Pig lay on a wet surface, the wet smell and the flying of paper pieces all over, make this product not a good purchase.

I really don't think that the hamsters care about the color, but it is of the same quality as the white and I get to enjoy a change once and a while. The packing is less compact, therefor easier for me to shred for the cage (arthritic)

My bunny tried to eat the bedding, so I use it in the tray. It has worked really well to absorbe any odors.
