Cover floor with loose product to a depth of 1-3 inches. Cleaning: At least once per week, remove all bedding and wash enclosure with a mild soap solution. Rinse cage thoroughly with clean water to ensure the removal of soap residue. Frequency of cage cleaning depends on the size of your pet's home and number of animals. Not for small animals

Do not buy for any small mammals. Lavender is a natural deterrent in nature. Unfortunately I bought this garbage as bedding for a mouse, I didn’t realize it was lavender scented until my mouse started to act strange. It only took a week and I knew my mouse was in trouble. Unfortunately the mouse passed away. It died from an upper respiratory infection. DO NOT USE FOR ANY SMALL ANIMAL INCLUDING FERRETS. There is no need for scent bedding/ litter because what stinks to us doesn’t to them. Do a simple google search and see how bad lavender is to small animals. Kaytee should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. I guess profit over safety is their priority.

We bought this once. Only once. The lavender was so strong we almost killed my brothers hamster. DO NOT USE IN SMALL SPACES!!!

Scented bedding makes gives rodents headaches, makes them sneeze and causes them to stay out of bedding for risk of respiratory issues. I would absolutely love for a representative from Kaytee to reply here or send me an email explaining how they can sell this and call it safe given the damage it has been proven to do

I wrote a previous review but it was take down. Loaded with perfume and its NOT all natural. Our pet vet said absolutely not when showed it to her. Unsafe for hamsters and other pets.

Is this bedding ok for mice?

    I would imagine it should be. It can be broken up into smaller pieces and is very fluffy. We use it for guinea pigs, but I don't see why you couldn't use it for mice. We have 2 guinea pigs in a large cage and get about 5-7 days out of it before a cage cleaning is needed.
