Ad says 30% off when you buy two but the discount wont apply. You have to contact petco customer service and they will charge you full price and then offer a partial refund. More work than the discount is worth. Aspens okay usually. Sometimes very dusty

Any small animal shouldn't have wood bedding it can lead to injuries. Please save your money and don't use this. KAYTEE c'mon you know better

- Aspen bedding is safe for rats. In fact they love to burrow in it. It is a hardwood so it doesn't have the harmful oils in it.

Are aspen shavings/bedding safe to use for pot belly pig litter?
- Thank you for contacting Drs. Foster & Smith with your question. Aspen shavings are safe to use as litter with a pot-bellied pig. Aspen does not contain the volatile hydrocarbons that pine and cedar contain. The strong scents associated with pine and cedar are due to the presence of these volatile hydrocarbons. It is these volatile hydrocarbons that may also cause respiratory and skin irritation. Another option would be to use shredded newspaper as a litter substrate for your pot-bellied pig.
