Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Only 25 watts is all that's needed to keep the indoor or outdoor pet warm and comfy even in the coldest of climates. The 9" X 12" size is perfect for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs or Ferrets and is ideal for the rehabilitation of wildlife. The internal thermostat is preset to be the perfect temperature. We've cleverly rounded all the edges to take away a chewing surface and even capped the cord entrance and the first 18" of the power cord with steel. Holes in the 4 corners of the pad are the perfect anchor points to keep the pad in place. Screws can be used to anchor the pad on wood surfaces or wired in place for wire floored cages. The Small Animal Heated Pad is the perfect warm spot for any small animal. Indoor or outdoor use.

  • - Use indoors or outdoors
  • - Low power consumption, 25 watts
  • - Excellent for many small animals and wildlife
  • - Resists chewing
  • - Can be mounted vertically or horizontally
  • - Easy to clean
  • - Thermostatically controlled to heat to animal's standard body temperature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always been a fan of K&H products and this adds to the collection. I got this for my "skinny" pig to keep warm even though he is indoors. So far he seems to love it, always sleeping on it keeping him warm. My bird also likes it but only supervised she has he own warmer from K&H.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently moved to Wyoming and it gets pretty cold here compared to Tokyo. My two bunnies aren't used to the cold and we have wooden floors instead of carpet. They also don't use beds or blankets as intended, choosing to pee on them instead. I was wary of getting them a heat pad because they do love to chew on wires and I was afraid it would somehow be too hot and harm them. Thankfully the heat pad does have a bit of space on the cord to help mitigate chewing and it is supposed to warm up to the normal temperature of a bunny. They seem to like it so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have often worried that our pets might be getting a little too cold now that winter is here in their cages by our window. They seem to really like this pad and it makes me feel so much better knowing that if they are cold they have somewhere they can go and warm up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for our rabbit when she would be outside on a fall day where it was too chilly to be outside with nothing. she LOVED this and would stay near it all day. I wish it came with a pad cover for it though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this as in the photo the bunny is just sitting on top of the pad. Upon receiving the product instructions I saw that you needed to buy a specific cover for it otherwise it could overheat and stop working. I was a little bit disappointed in reading that. Anyways I figured I’d give it a go without a cover and let my cats just try it out. I placed it under their thin material castle and put a towel on top of it. I could still feel the heat and the cats definitely noticed because they all huddled inside of the castle which they haven’t done in a very long time!! For now it is still working and the cats are all enjoying it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My bunny rabbits LOVE this heating pad. They get cold in the winter. I keep them inside my home, but they still het cold because we don’t turn our central heater, we only use our fireplace and space heaters. This heating pad works PERFECT to keep or rabbits warm during the colder months.

Questions

Can this be put in a bird cage and what temperatures do they go to on the selected setting?

  1. This product is not designed to be used in bird cages. For this, we have designed the Snuggle Up Bird Warmer product, please check it out.

can i use this under my mouse's paper bedding? and do i have to worry abouy my mouse being eletrocuted if he pees on it?

  1. Paper bedding is a combustible material. As with any such electrical device; please keep any combustible materials cleared from the area directly surrounding. Our outdoor heated beds and pads are water-resistant. We understand that pets collect snow and water from being outdoors. Our products are designed to be used safely with pets, even when the pet is water-soaked.

can I put the heating pad in my Rabbit Cage under her shavings.?

  1. Straw, hay, and wood shavings are all very combustible materials and we would never advise using any of those materials in conjunction with any type of electrical or heated products. Please remember not to place anything on top of a K&H outdoor bed or pad other than the cover provided.

Do you have any that uses batteries?

  1. No, but try our Self-Warming Lounge Sleeper: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kandh-brown-and-green-self-warming-lounge-sleeper. The self-warming material radiates heat back to your pet.

Could this be used in a Outside cat house?

  1. Yes, it can! The dimensions of this product are 9" x 12", so make sure you measure the inside of the cat house to ensure that the heated pad will fit. We do also sell larger heated pads that might be a better size for a cat. https://www.khpet.com/lectro-soft-outdoor-heated-bed.html

How much electricity does it use, anyone know?

  1. Thank you for your question. This heating pad takes 25 watts of power.

does the pad stay on as long as it is plugged in or does it turn off after certain time?

  1. Thank you for your question. The pad will stay at 102 degrees as long as it is plugged in.

K&H Small Animal Deluxe Heated Pad Cover

  1. I use tiny human baby receiving blankets (thin flannel) to cover them, and wrap the surplus under the heat pad. Works just fine. The pups love it!

may I use a Rubbermade Tote with lid and straw inside (2 holes for in/out and elevated about 7 inches off the ground. I set up2 last winter but don't

  1. You can use the tote as long as the heated pad goes inside it with a hole close to the exit cord for it to exit the cage with as little exposure to the animal as possible. If you plan to use this heated pad beneath the tote, it will never produce enough warmth to warm your pet through the floor of it. Don't put anything heavy on it, either, as the pad may short out. You can also use the corner holes to attach your pad(s) to the floor of your tote with small screws or wire ties. God Bless!

Can I put this pad under an igloo (that has its own floor) inside the cage?

  1. The instructions say not to put anything over the pad. You can place it inside the igloo, on the floor.
